Actually, there could be one of the things (sea serpent/barracuda thingy) that ate nemo's mama and all of his brothers and sisters by the dropoff when nemo was a wee lil' egg.Originally Posted by Bacon

It does look a little like the Reluctant Dragon, perhaps it was a creation of some very strange Disney Character Inbreeding program.

Nah, no matter what they do, be it Nemo or the old subs back ... they could always just RE DO the serpant! They just have the old one and know there are people in the world who might want him in their home ... just not for $1,000!![]()
If I had the money I would buy him. But thing is, with Disney auctions they have these crazy inflated shipping prices. I ordered a pin from them for my sister once (were talking a small little pin about an inch by an inch across) they charged $8.00 shipping, and that wasnt any special shipping just normal everyday shipping. The shipping was almost as much as the pin itself. I think I would have nightmares even thinking about how much they would charge to ship something like this.
Still some of this old stuff people must want badly, I consistantly am seeing the old skyways cars go for over $10,000 (with a few exceptions) which I find kinda odd. I loved skyway, but that much plus shipping for just the car? If I would be paying that much for a ride car it better be something more unique like the caterpiller cars in Alice.
Edited to add: oops didnt see that you had to arrange pick up for this one, but I am betting they still charge a "dock" fee as most warehouse places do, which can be just as bad as shipping.
It's sort of creepy looking. Why in the world would someone want that though? I guess I'm not into buying that kind of stuff.
It did get pulled off ebay though. Wonder if they weren't supposed to be selling it??
It was a Disney auction- but it was online for less than 5 hours.
If I had the money, I would buy one of these babies.

hahaha! That animatronic has been out at the "graveyard" by TDA for at least 3 years. I walk by once in a very great while when I leave work by TDA (which almost never happens). I've seen it up close and its basically trashed from the weather because its been stored outside the entire time.

Gosh its kinda weird seeing that for sale... it's like a piece of my Disneyland childhood was severed and is being sold off. It's weird. You don't get that with the vehicles and stuff but looking at the serpent, this unmistakeable aspect of one of my favorite rides... it's kinda weird to see him out of his element.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive.
If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."
Disneyland. My Anti-drug.
With all this talk of "off the shelf" and "on the back-burner" it seems the only thing that DCA is really missing is the kitchen sink!

If I was going to buy a Mr Toad Car for over a grand, I'd at least like a seat.
