Sad No Birthday Trip this year

Tomorrow is my birthday. I will turn 71. For the first time I will not be going to Disneyland (where I was on July18, 1955 the day the Park opened to the public) because I have no way of getting down there and back. I can no longer afford the train even at the senior reduced rate and the 2 1/2 hour ride down + 3 hour ride home on the MTA bus is something I can no longer take. It's sad that none of my "Friends" can take me down anymore. They have other things going on too. So if you are in the Park tomorrow think of me sitting at home for the first time since the day the Park opened to the public thinking about being there.

    Thank You Poisonedapples

Thats a huge bummer man! I really wish mass transportation included metro trains that ran along the center of each freeway (like the 105 fwy has). It sure would beat having to take bus after bus to get to your destination.

Hopefully you still have a happy birthday and try to focus on all of the great things you have going on around you instead of the one place where you can't go. At least we all have MC and the Mousewait app to get our Disney fix while away from the parks.

Re: No Birthday Trip this year

I feel your pain! I've had to skip out on a couple of birthdays at the parks due to price and my location at the time. I've been spending birthdays at the resort since I was probably 2 or 3 years old and it's definitely become my tradition. I was able to make it this year thankfully but who knows about next year.

Sorry to hear that! It's been a while since I've been able to go, too, but I'll think of you while I take a virtual trip there in my mind. Hopefully soon you'll make it there in person.
