    Early closing times in September

Does anyone know why Disneyland is scheduled to close at 7 pm on several days in September? It's too early for the Halloween party.

Could be private parties or it could be CM appreciation parties. It could also be that the final schedule hasn't been published yet and it's actually closing at a normal time.

I'm hoping it's the latter of the three. Thanks!

I've noticed the same thing. But it also isn't listing any parade or show times at all. I have a hard time believing there will be absolutely NO shows for the month so I'm assuming the schedule hasn't been finalized. That's what I'm hoping anyway!

All I know is last year, I was soo upset because I decided to celebrate my birthday in the parks (September 6th) and Disneyland was closing at 5pm due to a cast banquet they were hosting. After speaking to other CM's, they said they tend to have more events and special events during low peak season, thus resulting in early closing.

Could be cast events, corporate rentouts, unannounced mix-in events... The least likely is simply closing early to give more maintenance time due to the higher-than-usual traffic throughout what used to be the "slow" season, but I can still hope.
Credibility is to be sought for. Credulity is not. Sadly the latter is our normal human state.

Plus it's kind of an off season at that time and a couple rides getting their holiday makeovers (HMH and SM Ghost Galaxy)

Yes, that is the date of the first Mickey's Halloween party but Halloween Time officially starts on Friday, Sept. 13. On that date, Disneyland will be decked out in Halloween decorations and the Holiday version of the Haunted Mansion will open. Disneyland will also be open until 1am that day and there will be a "Villains Day" celebration.

Looking forward to this, but I'm not happy that our first day in the parks (12th) sees Disneyland close at FIVE PM! That's super early! Looks like they are opening at 9am to compensate though.

Re: Early closing times in September

September is my FAVORITE time to go to Disneyland. Since I've had my pass, I've been at a CSU that doesn't resume school til late September, so trips to Dland during that month is always peaceful. It's such a nice time to go to Disneyland, but the absolute best month to go (for me) is October. Crispy, cool, and low attendance!

ANYWAY! The Resort does seem to host a ton of corporations and corporate stuff around this time, I think because the third quarter or the fiscal year (or both) ends in September for a lot of businesses, so a lot of rich folk like to pat themselves on the back and where better than Disneyland?

Re: Early closing times in September

I just saw this on the Disney website and had to come here to see if you all are as surprised as I am. Usually they close at 8pm weeknights during off-peak times. That is bad enough, but 7?! And on the 12th they are closing at 5pm. We are likely going (from AZ) during this time and I am disappointed to see a 7pm. closing time.

I'm hoping the park attendance will be low enough, the early closures won't make too much of a difference. But 5 PM? That is just sad.
