New opening date for Thunder Mountain.

It was announced in the daily notes for cast members that BTM will open on 2/15/2014. It may not be announced on the website yet but this note was given to the cast member today. I will try to keep you informed if I get any new info.

If you have any questions for an Attractions cast member feel free to send me a private message. I work Thunder, Indiana Jones, Jungle Cruise, and Disneyland Railroad.

Maybe it was too smooth, and they're roughing it up a bit more.

But thorough with what? I know that track is being changed, the town is being updated, surfaces are being repainted, and they have to expand the loading station...but how long does that all take?

What I'm really hoping for is that this is another sign that Disneyland is going to take better care of its attractions--from Cars Land/Buena Vista Street to plussing Indiana Jones to restoring the effects in BTMRR. Only if all the effects are fixed and some new enhancements are made can I understand the extended closure.

The bottomline is that it's construction - anything can happen. The date on paper sounded good but maybe they ran into some issues along the way that are going to slow down the process? Maybe they are just that far behind schedule? Maybe materials didn't come in or were ready on time? Maybe the city is hindering the process? It could literally be anything. And it must be somewhat of a big deal to push it back as far as it's being pushed now.

Anyone who has ever done construction on anything ever knows this to be an issue.

It sounds like they are working on BTMR at the same glacial pace as that new Snow White coaster at WDW.

Maybe they're taking out all the Johnny Depp details since The Lone Ranger flopped

My first thought was that there is indeed a delay but it has not been determined how long, so this is a placeholder date. That has happened before. Four months is a huge delay.

    Oh, well. Whatever happens, happens.
