Oh I don't mean RSR, although their ride vehicles are a doozy for someone with limited mobility who has to transfer, but that's a whole other issue. I just mean in general I know DOSH is requiring more inspections and such and safety precautions. And I wish they'd put more of that energy into making more rides and attractions not only ADA accessible but ADA friendly as well. The two are not synonymous.
Perhaps when Big Thunder reopens there will be a separate wheelchair entrance instead of the "swim upstream" method.

Maybe it will get a mechanical refurb, too. I feel like its turning into the "Disco Yeti" of the West Coast.

What is concerning me is how could the refurb for Big Thunder get missed by that much. Normally on refurbs they are meticulously planned. I can understand going over by a couple weeks, but by four months? Somebody did not do their work correctly. If TDA just "discovered" they wanted changes, they TDA really messed up here. They should have articulated all the changes they wanted BEFORE they work started. I am sure that this is costing much more they Disney originally estimated. To have Space Mountain and Big Thunder down at the same time this winter will be a big hit for new guests.

Awesome. We have been planning this trip for a year and are travelling halfway around the world so our boys can see Carsland and now it looks like the main attraction is going to be down for most of our stay. Added to Toy Story, which is another big hit with our boys, and things aren't looking as rosy. I understand they need to refurb rides, but giving less than a months' notice on such a HUGE attraction and drawcard? Not cool

That was written in response to what I previously stated. Maybe you should read through before making a reply.

The "Behind the Walls" video shows a widened exit platform with what appears to be a wheelchair waiting area. Since BTM loads from two platforms, one train can remain stopped for assisted loading for as long as necessary while the other side loads normally.

KASARA SARA what will be will be. Darn I was looking forward to BTMRR being open in October but if they can get it all correct in all aspects it will be better in the long run. I can't wait to board that train. Thanks for the update Dusty I will break the news to my kids.

    Hmm,

Seems like the Alice remodel, railing on main street, extended BTMRR downtime could all be avoided if people took responsibility for their own actions. A major remodel being delayed because fall railing needs to be redesigned for an attraction with no history of major fall injuries is retarded. DOSH and the rest of the folk clamoring for more safety at one of the safest parks per visitor on earth, need to get a brain cell or two and rub them together. It irritates the heck out of me that a wonderful idyllic park setting must be consistently broken by a piece of new railing put up because someone's IQ was too low.

I agree! The only time we get on is if we have a fastpass and we dont go early just to get one either ! Its never a priority !

Don't forget, Disney hasn't said a thing about this yet. It's all coming from that Editor's Note on this unofficial website.

So can someone lay all this out in one post so BTMt has been pushed from Oct to Feb 15. Space is going down after Halloween and now RSR is going down starting the week of Sep 15 until when? I think I got that right. So 3 out of 10 E tickets are down starting Oct 3. Wow...

With RSR closed will the casual guests even go to DCA?
Many Bothans died to bring you these fastpasses.

I'm sure people will still go to DCA. There are two other rides in Cars Land, you know.
