    Thunder Mountain update

So here is an update for thunder mountain. In a nutshell, there is no official set date to when this attraction will reopen. But the original opening date of October 31st is off according to the leads who I know there. They are pushing for a December opening just in time for holiday season and that's what the higher ups in TDA want as well. "Worst case" the attraction should reopen by Feb 2014. So it's either December 2013 which is what TDA wants, or Feb 2014. What the leads at thunder believe that it will likely open on December since they are going to be doing test and adjust starting in September. But again no one really knows when the attraction will reopen.

Thanks! I have an Indy question too. Is there any buzz among the Indy CMs about the new Mara voice? In particular any news of it being a celebrity voice?

Ah thank you! I was fairly sad when I went last week and saw that it was closed. At the risk of sounding stupid, what is being done? General referb or are they adding/removing?

It is a fairly massive project. All tracks and trains are being replaced, the mountains are being repainted and the town is being replaced.

If BTM does not reopen, do you think they will maintain the Space Mountain rehab?

That's what I'd like to know! I'm planning a trip December 8-14 and latest news we heard was that both BTMRR and SM would be closed during our trip, and that really bummed us out. Still am hoping one of the two will be open during our trip!

At this time, SM is only gong to be closed Nov 4 to remove the GG overlay. Earlier in the week, the recorded message (for DLR) stated it would be closed till Jan 17, but it looks like that may be an error. The message now states it is only closed on Nov 4 now.

Oh I sincerly hope this is the case! Bit bummed about BTM possibly still being closed since we were excited about seeing the complete refurb, but if SM is open we'll be happy.
