The oldest running Circle Swing is in Blackpool Pleasure Beach and has been in continuous operation since 1904. It's the oldest running amusement ride in Europe.

I also believe that for awhile, the one in Blackpool and the one at DCA were the only two in operation in the entire world, much like the Sun Wheel and the Wonder Wheel at Coney Island were the only two eccentric wheels in the United States.

There is actually a lot of history in the Golden Zephyr.
That's actually pretty cool to know. The thing is, when I look at the GZ, I see a ride I've often seen somewhere else - or at least its basics. The thing about Disney attractions is, I suppose I expect something out of the ordinary.

I wasn't aware there were only 2 of them in the whole world. I suppose I saw it as an old spinning ride that could be found anywhere else...

Just to let everyone know the ride is back up and running. Was running last night, with pretty stable ride attendance. I rode it and noticed they changed the seat belts. you can only do two to a row now and each spot has its own seatbelt. Previously it was one big belt that you would share similar to grizzly river run.

I think they should use its down time to fix all the broken lights on it. I was there a few weeks ago and noticed lots of blacked out lights.

They have had the individual seat belts for awhile now, at least three years. And Grizzly has never had a big belt just individual belts.

In refelecting upon each of your posts, I think that the name "Golden Silver Zepher" would be thematically accurate as well as breezy cool.
