Re: Sights and Sounds of Disneyland in a Smooth 1 Hour Steady Walking Tour - Steadica

Technical question! When you're on the Smoothee, do you have your camera OIS engaged as well? If so, you should turn it off. The SteadiCam will do the work and the OIS gets into trouble when you're panning the camera without other dynamic (walking, running, etc) movement.

Great video, by the way! I spend all my time at WDW now, so it's nice to have a virtual tour of DL to take me back to the park I grew up in!

I thoroughly enjoyed this and have saved it for myself to watch when I feel DL homesick - which happens weekly. BTW - what time of day are you recording this??

I used a DSLR with OIS turn on. I did not use a camcorder.

As a matter of fact, I use something very similar to what you've mentioned, I used a Hugue.

I see both videos on YouTube now and I cannot wait. I admire your work very, very much and I have been aching for videos like these for years now. This will help tide me over between visits. You, sir, are a humanitarian!

I loved these videos. I grew up at Disneyland. I remember the opening of TL67 (I was 6) and I went to DL at least twice a year until 1980. Since 1980 I've only been three times and the last time was in 1993. I live in Texas now and a trip to California is just a dream. Thank you for the wonderful memories. Much has changed but the park also remains the same. I've never seen DCA so it was a treat. When I went to DLR in 1993 I parked where the ToT is now.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Thanks for sharing your video, and taking the time to make it. You sure know how to help those of us out who can't make it there often enough.
