Is Disneyland justified as the happiest place on earth?

Alright we all know the tagline by now, Disneyland is the "Happiest place on earth". It is used as a gimmick, a way to lure people to the park. Or is it? Is it really a place one could justify as the "happiest place on earth"? In my opinion it comes as advertised. I don't think there is a happier place I could possibly be on the face of the earth.

So do you think it is more of a gimmick or a reality?

Heck yes!! If it wasn't my happiest place on earth, I wouldn't even go on this website in the first place.

Depends on how someone defines 'Happy'

For some, Disneyland IS the single happiest place on Earth and rightfully deserves that title. For others, they see other places much more worthy of that title and see the tagline as a gimick.

My stance? I do love Disneyland, but I wouldn't call it the 'Happiest' place on Earth. It's like that other gimmick I see everywhere, '[Insert City Name Here]'s best coffee!'. The coffee is good, but I wouldn't go around stating it's the best.

I definitely feel extremely happy there, but I think the slogan is also a suggestion and people can go there and allow themselves to feel happy. Sounds strange maybe but we go around in our day to day lives in a semi-hectic and stressful life and sometimes we need a little cue to lead us in that direction.

Generally speaking, yes; but the huge crowds and lack of an off-season has caused more than a slight loss of said happiness.

So while we are on the topic does the Magic Kingdom deserves "The Most Magical Place on Earth"? The two go hand in hand. And yes Disneyland deserves the title.

It is my happiest place on earth. However, I feel like cast members were a lot happier 15 years ago when I was a kid. In order for in to truly be the happiest place on earth, I think that Disney would have have to pay their staff a little more. Then it would be the happiest place for both the guests and the staff! Just my 2 cents.

It's like they say in Splash Mountain, "everybody's got a laughing place. Maybe this one is yours!" I certainly think that Disneyland is my big wonderful escape from day to day life. Is it everyone's? Probably not, and that's totally okay.

My happiest place is my own home. DisneyLand comes in second. And it always will.

Well said. Disneyland should never be anyone's "Happiest Place on Earth". That is reserved for home and family.

There are some things I can't shake off at home that I can shake off in Disneyland. I'm sure its just my mindset, and the fact that I'm much more "connected" at home to things like work, but I see nothing wrong with having a happiest place out of the home.
