I am glad, however, that they kept it open one week longer, as we were able to take one last photo there in our Halloween costumes. That does not even begin to make up for the sorrow and cynicism I feel over its closure, though. What will they mess up next?
The Court of Angels was a beautiful, isolated, and quiet spot at New Orleans Square, the court holds a special place and sentimental value to many Disneyland fans from around the globe. Now it is unfortunately close to the public and cater only to super rich Club 33 members.
Disneyland Management is good, but not great. They've made a very bad decision...
Sad to have seen this go even though I never went back there, usually walking by I seen people back there taking pictures. I love sitting on a bench in New Orleans Square and people watching while listening to jazz music and sad to see the changes. Many places like New Orleans Square don't exist in Disneyland anymore it truly feels like being in transported to another place. Little things like this is what sets Disney theme parks above the rest, now its starting to feel like Universal.
(I'm not saying that I hate Universal, just doesn't have that Disney coziness)
Save the Court of Angels! Save New Orleans Square!
New Orleans Square was the last area in Disneyland to be opened by Walt Disney himself. He personally chose this piece of concept art created by Herb Ryman. This would become the Court of Angels.
If you're upset about the Court of Angels closing write to Disney... email them... call them. I can provide at least one telephone number to call: 714-781-1597
