Re: Will Character Autographs be phased out?

I find it heard to believe that they would phase out the autographs, if for no other reason than money. An autograph book and pen, that's easy and cheap money for Disney.

Are you able to ask for a card if you don't have an autograph book? because I would absolutely do that!

I'm not sure training cast members how to do the autographs are the problem as, from my experience, there isn't really any formal autograph training.

Hopefully they won't start charging for autographs, like at Hollywood/Sci-Fi/sports conventions, or make a policy that they will ONLY sign official Disney autorgraph books.

I can't see the autographs going away any time soon. It makes the meeting even more special when a moment is taken to sign something.

Re: Will Character Autographs be phased out?

Chalk me up with those thinking that so long as they sell the books, the characters will autograph them.

It doesn't sound like the policy of sign vs. card is at all consistent from any of the people who've run into them. I'm guessing (hoping) that for the Meet'n'Greet characters they may need to have "approved" signatures from on high and that in cases such as Wreck-it-Ralph and such it's an omission of error or just lack of approvals.

I don't really deal with the characters in the park, so for me it's utterly not an issue. But for kids? It trains them to be bloodthirsty paparazzi... er... no, wait, it gives them an opening to "connect" to the characters. THERE we go.

Well to me getting the characters autographs is like there super star like say if I saw Bill Murry or say a ball player Matt Kemp I would like to get there autographs. So getting autographs from Cinderella,Tigger or Peter Pan is like therethese super stars to alot of people.

Re: Will Character Autographs be phased out?

It would be a shame if they did. It is really something that little kids absolutely love. I can't tell you how many families came up to my popcorn or churro wagon at the end of the day just devastated because they had been collecting signatures all day and then lost their signature book at the end of the day. For some people, it is the most important part about going to Disneyland.

I don't think the autographs will phase out. They use the cards during special events like Long Lost Friends, to speed up the line.

I agree. The autograph books are a major moneymaker for Disney.
