I rang Disneyland about accommodation, I asked that cm about btmrr and she said the last they'd heard was October 31st. I sent them an email and I'm waiting to hear back.

I feel like they would have been smart enough to replace the signs if the refurb was actually delayed, but you never know.

October is still "Fall". If delayed past December 21st, then we'd have "Winter 2013" or "Winter 2014". :-)

Well obviously they would've changed the sign if they knew the refurb was delayed until "February 14"... So this can be counted as good news, right?

Unfortuantely the Disneyland calendar is showing BTMRR still closed through Nov 3rd (that's as far as they go right now). When they first put up the 31st, it wasn't on there, but now it is.

So frustrating! I know delays happen and that's fine if they truly need to wait, especially for safety reasons, but I'm really annoyed that they aren't telling us. It sounds like they have known for quite a while and just aren't telling anyone.

Yesterday was my first trip in a while where I actually thought "Huh. I really want to ride Big Thunder." I'm starting to miss it haha.

I'm trying to get back to Disney in February. Hopefully it's open by then.

The whole thing seems a little odd. I know there are situations that can't be accounted for, but it seems like by now they would know within a good margin of error when the attraction will be open.

There has always been a weird thing about October 31st. Why that day?

This is a major refurbishment on a major attractions, usually they try to wrap these up for major crowds. They had planned to end on a big day, single big day with small crowds after it. Sure maybe aiming for September 13th or the 26th would of been too hopeful, but they would of caught Halloween Crowds and busy park days. Now many a little delay and the will aim for the Friday before Thanksgiving when the parks will next be busy.

I haven't seen this myself but people reported tracks being tested. Anyone have photos of the trains on the tracks? Are the trains new?

In any case we are nearing the end of this, which is obvious from the progress we have witnessed.

Interesting, I emailed them a few days ago just out of curiosity and the email I got just five minutes ago said this fall.

They seem to have a big problem with internal communications between Disney management and the CM's. You can ask three different CM's the same question and get three different answers.
