    Monorail Tractor Question...

This might be a good one for Steve DeGaetano or anyone else with pertinent knowledge.

Every night I've been to DL 'til closing, shortly after closing I see the Monorail Tractor making a quick run around the monorail track.

What exactly are they doing? I know they use them to tow Monorails that have gone 101 back to the roundhouse, to trim vegetation along the Monorail path and to do track maintenance, but what's the purpose of that end-of-night run? Are they just giving the track a visual once-over to make sure the track is OK and the Monorail didn't break and leave behind any pieces? I'd imagine it's something like that but I'm just curious from an operational standpoint.

I don't know for sure, but I would assume its just a quick visual of the track, the surroundings (does that tree need a quick snip?), etc.

They could be checking clearances with trees, stability of the track, make sure the track is clear, etc.

Just a simple track inspection. They look at the bus bars and the condition of the beam for any bad concrete patches.

Every ride is required to have a daily inspection. My guess is that is how the cover the Monorail's required inspection.
