Re: Ever done Grizzly River Run at night?

One warm summer night, my kids rode on GRR during the last hour before closing. They started in the single rider line, but soon the line was empty, and they were allowed to simply stay on the raft and keep going. They met some other kids on the ride, and had a great time.

When the park closed, my kids were soaking wet, and smiled during the entire walk back to the hotel.

Or just do it at the very end of the night and keep a towel in the car.

I wonder what the cast would do/say if you wore a wet suit and sandals on the water rides, haha.

We actually talked about doing GRR at night to get a different feel. Normally, we take a change of clothes and we'll be done with water rides for the day. Maybe next year we'll try to ride at night.

I went on it the other day completely alone at night, I was the only person in the raft.
I love horror movies (like Evil Dead, ect.), I actually got scared being alone on this ride.
I must say the ride was filled with some screaming, eye closing, and cursing. I've been on this ride multiple times before, but being alone on it was something else, it was truly terrifying being in a dark cave completely alone.

I have only done GRR once and I rode during the daytime and it was in November. I got drenched and was freezing all day. I think the memory of that has steered me away from GRR since then. If I'm ever in the park while it's warm enough I'll give it a try at night.
I wish Frozen would have never been made.

The best reason to stay at the GCH is to ride GRR over and over and over... then you just squish...squish...squish...squish...squish...squis h...squish...squish...squish...squish...squish...y our way back to your room and dry off.

Yes. One December night. But we were staying at the GCH and were in our rooms in 2 minutes.

Re: Ever done Grizzly River Run at night?

The most memorable nighttime GRR ride for me was right after my family and I had a fancy dinner at the Storyteller's Cafe maybe 7 or 8 years ago. We had all dressed up nice (we were celebrating my mom's birthday) and this was in December. The park was only open for another hour or so, and my sister and I (we were probably 13-14 at this point) decided we should hop on GRR even though we were in nicer clothes and it was freezing out. We got soaked. To save time my family decided to take the tram back to the car instead of walk... the wind against our wet clothes was SO COLD. It was pretty fun though. We still talk about what a good time we had!
