What's your Guilty Pleasure at the parks?

What's your Guilty Pleasure at the parks?

Mine is Dancin' with Disney. I know it gets a bad rap for being a space filler. At first I thought the same thing, but when I go to Disneyland with my son, he loves being able to dance and play there. And I like seeing him have fun. Also, it's actually not too bad, it does get fun after a while. They do some fun stuff.

Okay, I'll admit it. I like meeting the princesses. Yes, I'm a 40+ old man, but everyone needs a little fairy tale now and then.

I don't really know if I have a "guilty" pleasure at the parks. Certainly a lot of nerdy ones. But I feel compelled to ask, didn't they take out Dancin' with Disney? I thought I saw a post a few weeks back regarding its "last day".

Mine revolve around unhealthy food that I really shouldn't be eating, like Dole Whips!! They're my biggest weakness!

Definitely the unhealthy but delicious treats! But frankly for us, Disneyland as a whole is our guilty pleasure..we love it as much as our daughter does.

“To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past...and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” - Walt Disney, Disneyland Opening Day Speech 1955

    Unhealthy, overpriced, delicious food.

Souvenirs - especially pins, and now that I have an excuse: Stuffed animals!

Ear hats/hats I wouldn't get away with wearing outside the park.

Hugging characters! (Not the face ones... I'm awkward with them, though I still love photos with any character! My hugs are reserved for masked characters )

Pins, pins and more pins. No, I'm not even a pin collector or trader but I go in everytime and if I see a unique one that I like, boom, it's mine.

I can't think where I'd instantly drop $8-14 dollars like that unless it's food.

Re: What's your Guilty Pleasure at the parks?

You all are going to laugh, but my guilty pleasure at the parks is POP. I've always had a struggle with my weight and I only drink water or iced tea (no sugar) 360 days a year...but when I am in a Disney park I drink POP (the real stuff, not diet). I don't know why I do it but my kids are shocked to see me with a cup of pop.

I just remember being a kid and slurping that stuff down by the caseload and when I am in the parks I just let myself have that once a year treat. I end up gaining about 3 pounds every vacation as a result, so I have to watch the other tempting treats while I am there. I like the citrus swirls though but I never got into the churros. I think my next trip I am going to have to try that BoysenAppleFreeze in Fantasy Faire.

Same with me. I raid the candy shops, caramel popcorn, and Dole whips!
