or Melancholia (apt & it sounds pretty)

If Steve Jobs were still alive & healthy, the threat to Iger of Disney's biggest shareholder/legendary perfectionist might have been enough to allow Iger's representative--John Lasseter--to push through something great in Tomorrowland. Now it's enough for Rasulo, Iger, Staggs & Crofton to get optimists like Dusty & D23 members to hope that something great might come in at dwarf coaster speed.

Disneyland's Tomorrowland should remind us that Disney World isn't so far away.

For the next four years the most exciting thing coming to S. California theme parks will be the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Hollywood, under the Walt-like eye of Steve Burke. I wish he were at Disney transforming our Tomorrowland with his, "If you build it, they will come" philosophy.

I think if a rename is even in the works (not likely) but something with the word "galaxy" in it since it would work generally, and for Star Wars. The Galaxy District. I don't know. I like all the original land names fine.

    That-other-land

Honestly though i hope those imagineers get there butts in action and keep walt's vision there. I have a hard time thinking Walt would want to see a bunch of half grown bears and 6 eyes monsters to be the main attraction there.

I think Star Wars should go to DHS or wait and hold off for a third gate (someday) especially with the new trilogy coming out. They sure could be creative with a brand new land . . .
Makes since why they would brand tomorrowland that way. All about exposure to drive sales and with the new trilogy coming out thats exactly what they WILL do.

    Goodbye tomorrowland

I always thought Discoveryland sounded good to me, as long as we don't end up with the diarrhea brown Space Mountain again!

We haven't stepped foot in TL in a couple years.

Something like Transportationland" would seem appropriate.

    Franchise Obsessed Land

Which brings to mind - The coming George Clooney "Tomorrowland" movie. I sure would love to know what that's going to look like? Could look original and cool.

So ... if franchise/movie obsessed Disney has to turn Tomorrowland into Franchiseland ... use the Tomorrowland Movie look. They win .. we win.

    win-win situation

If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

StarWarsland... that's what its becoming. I never really liked tommorowland, but everyone has that one "land" in the park that they don't really like.
    "Who's she?!?"
    "Oh her? Oh, that's Wendy!"
    "A girl?!"
    "What's she doing here?!"
    "..and in her nightdress too!"
"...We were only trying to drown her..that's all."

Re: What would you rename Tomorrowland now?

Well, the article yesterday referred to it as Star Wars Land. However, it also said it will be a loose theme. What that means exactly remains to be seen. I would guess (and hope) that it remains as Tomorrowland. If Star Wars Land was more of a subland within TL that might be OK, but it would probably be hard to do considering that Star Tours is right at the entrance of TL.
