A year after the last Potter or Cars movie did people stop going to those parks?

I think Star Wars has more staying power than just about any of Disney's franchises

Re: STAR WARS: In Disneyland's Tomorrowland, or save it for the Third Park?

I was in USC's Lucas building when I received glares of disbelief when I asked, "What if Episode 1 (the 4th Star Wars movie to be released) were bad?"

I really only loved two of the six Star Wars movies so far. You know which ones. I wasn't satisfied with the ending of Episode 6, and the next 3 (the suspense-less 1-3) had their moments, but imagine if the next Star Wars movies are as mediocre as they were. And you'd bet a whole theme park--at least 2 billion dollars if done properly--on one potentially bad movie franchise?

I'd like a beautiful indoor/ourdoor, year round water park themed as a water park: Disney's Water Park. OK, Blizzard Beach would work too. I posted a thread for ideas for a Marvel-themed water park, but one poster didn't want to see scantily clad, comic-con geeks.

These days a lot of the so called "geeks" are legit HOTTIES.
There's more hot women in the world of cosplay than in fashion modeling. lol

A Star Wars land sure, a few rides and some themeing, but a whole park, I don't think so. Disney wants to sell Disney stuff. If the whole park was themed to Star Wars, it would seem out of place to have shops filled with Disney stuff. A Star Wars theme park would be one you go to once, not one you want to go to all the time. There just isn't enough variety for the common folk.

Halloween is the biggest money maker for all of the southern California theme parks. So the third park should be Villains' Park.

** By "save it for the Third Park", I never suggested that Star Wars be the singular theme of the whole park, but rather ONE OF the themes at the new park **

Well, they don't need the entire Toy Story parcel for that, it would fit in the lot behind Paradise Pier.

Do southern California water parks really make money? I've only been to the Knotts one, and it wasn't very crowded and the tickets were like $20. I feel like it would cheapen the Disney name in southern California.

I think a Disney done water park, with quality theming and lots of classic Disney charm would be fantastic. The two water parks at WDW are pretty cool, but in my mind they could use more Disney character in their appeal.

(great screen name by the way!)

Can you help me out CA? Lots of people reference expanding Paradise Pier and everytime I look on a google maps satellite image of DCA I don't see where there is room to expand. Are we talking about the southwest corner behind the rollercoaster, taking up the backstage buildings? I'm assuming people aren't talking about tearing down California Screaming, right?

In general, I just hope the focus remains on the "classic" Star War, Episodes IV-VI.
There's not much from the prequels that I personally would like to see in any new Star Wars additions to DLR.

Sorry bro, for a water park, I meant the parking lot behind the Paradise Pier HOTEL not the park.

As for expanding another dark ride into Paradise Pier... Yes! That can be done. In the space where Maliboomer was. Wait! Not enough room? Well the show building would be behind the roller coaster, and they would just have a portal there.

Like Haunted Mansion does to get you outside the berm.

Like Toy Story Mania does to get you behind the roller coaster to the show building.

In the summer, they could have a regular water park with cool water, but in the winter they could have a hot tub water park. Warm water with relaxing jets. Fireplaces and warm areas to relax after a soothing soak.

It's not warm enough in Anaheim for a year round water slide type of park. The hotel pools in SoCal have to be heated even in the summer time. It's just not a good option for Anaheim.
