Re: Oh, no! Not the ewoks!!

I grew up on the original trilogy, never honestly cared all that much about the Ewoks. They were annoying, but by that point so was about ninety percent of the rest of the galaxy (seriously).

*IF* the rumored speederbike coaster actually happens, I can't really see the Ewok presence really meaning much. Heck, I can't see any presence that can't be sufficiently communicated in about half a second at forty miles an hour really meaning much. The ride itself is most of the attraction with coasters, and even dressed up and made pretty you still are faced with either scenery at a high speed fly by (think how much actual scenery is on the Matterhorn as opposed to sculpted walls) or multiple slowdowns that accomplish at the very least the ability to do show scenes and draw attention to the details (BTMRR).

I'll be honest. While not the biggest fan of Star Wars, I'd still be likely to at least try any ride they cared to come up with.

    Unless it featured... that...

Well of course its about merchandise/money. I don't mind that they sell little fuzzy creatures to anyone who wants to buy one. I just wish they would take into consideration the zillions they make off all this stuff and pass it down to better ticket prices. Yeah I know they will charge whatever we are willing to pay. But even so....

I completely agree. However, I can guarantee we will see another big ticket price increase once it opens.

    Correlation does not equal causation.
    Post hoc ergo propter hoc.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

We're guaranteed to see big ticket price increases even if it doesn't open.

I'm tired of Star Wars, period. Liked the original when it came out, but almost 40 years later, I'm over it now. Obviously I'm in the minority though, so oh well.

    Cheeez, look what I started.

Good comments, and I think How I Met Your Mother is right about how old yoiu have to be to appreciate or hate the Ewoks.

Spaceballs is a classic, I don't care what Harlan Ellison says.

In my rant, I forgot about the glider. We're supposed to believe that a small-scale Stone Age culture living in a dense forest was able to discover flight and can fly between trees.

i never said the Ewoks defeated the whole Empire, I just said they defeated a squad of stormtroopers, which I still don't believe, mycroft 16 .

Wish I could post here more than once or twice a week; lots of interesting stuff happens around here when i'm gone.
Everyone is entitled to an informed opinion.

There should be a sticky thread called "This Day in Disney History." The company has a long history and this would be a good way to acknowledge it. Walt was born 112 years ago; that's quite a chunk of American history and culture.

I LOVE ewoks... but, doing this in Tomorrowland really changes the theme of Tomorrowland. I'm torn in both directions here.
