I am enjoying everyone's creativity here even though I have none to offer of my own. Oddly, probably because of my age, I think of Disneyland or Disneyland Resort. Disneyland is the original, DLR is as it stands today. I don't register California Adventure as anything separate on its own. Again, perhaps that's age -- too old for Terror or Screamin or for standing in line for an hour to shoot at things.
Lucas Land -- Luke, I am your uncle. Your Uncle Walt. I can wear a mustache and you cannot. And the duck wears pants..."
Actually I think that World of Disney would be a pretty good, all-incompasing name, and it could have different lands based on the IP's that they own. Obviously Star Wars land and Marvel land, but there could also be an ESPN land (anyone remember the Michael Vick Experience commercial? THAT would be a hellava ride if anyone ever built it), Narnia (they don't own it, but everyone associates the movies with Disney even though the last one wasn't), and then possibly a Disney villan land. If they had room, they could even bring over something like Mysterious Island from DisneySea. The tricky part would be creating a central hub that was different from Hollywood Blvd over in DCA in order to give guests the "gateway" experience that all Disney parks have. Maybe they could create a Disney Theme Park museum where you could walk through mock-up's of parts of old rides like Journey Through Inner Space or the House of the Future, see original artwork and sketches, see full 1/8ths in scale models, and the Blue Sky Cellar could be relocated (and renamed) and expanded here. I always loved the film One Man's Dream so they could show that there as well, and maybe even also show the great 50th anniversary film with Steve Martin.
Sure they'd have to rename the store in DD but it has the most potential in my opinion.
That would direct everyone's google hits to Disney World.
Not to mention the name is associated with the 1 am cash registers collecting your last dollar.
I'm just thinking that the general public will get VERY confused if these following words are used: WORLD, LAND, ADVENTURE, STUDIO, KINGDOM. As it is, ppl seem to confuse DL & WDW!!!
I actually think using "Kingdom" in the name would be a good idea, if for no other reasons than that it's not a term already used for a park at DLR and that I think "Kingdom" is a traditional Disney moniker that fits well with it's parks.
I do understand what you mean though regarding people mixing up "Disneyland or Disney World?" I hear that way too often from non-Disney fanatics, hahaha.
A park that makes unique original attractions, none of which are made to advertise new or existing franchises.
Though I am curious/excited for what Disney has in store for Marvel and (potentially) Star Wars attractions for the 3rd gate, I would much rather have an all new original park with original rides. Though I'd really, really love to have new rides/attractions based on classic Disney films already represented (Peter Pan, Alice) and stories not done yet (Sleepy Hollow, Three Little Pigs).
As far as I know, SW and Marvel weren't officiallllly announced for 3rd gate. The concept of a 3rd gate hasn't been mentioned either for that matter!
AK is getting Avatar, and w/ the way Disney likes to clone, I figured it was the "rule of threes" (too many art classes on my part). IMO, it'd be a personal paradise to have a new park totally devoid of franchises. But we know that won't happen.
As for KINGDOM, I like that it is strictly a florida thing!
