I was honestly glad to see him not show up, they should remove Jones too and reinstate the 'classic' dialogue. And I like Ian McShane a lot, ordinarily - he was great in Deadwood, but his Blackbeard character was so puzzlingly boring and mediocre. Very odd.
I don't mind having Davy Jones on the ride somewhere. He is a grand mythological figurehead for sailors. Maybe if we ever get the mermaids, he can speak in the "dead caverns".
Peter Pan: "You know, your hair is on fire."
Me: "Yes. It happened after a recent trip to Neverland."
Peter Pan: "Well, you can dunk your head in the pond behind us, if you want."
Lost Child of Neverland since 1996. ~Favorite Hero: Peter Pan. Favorite Villian:Malificent.Favorite Ride: The Haunted Mansion.~
If he's gone they might be replacing him with something else in the future. First, it was Davy, then Blackbeard. Whoevers the villain for the next one will more than likely take it's spot.
The extra AAs might be too much, but at least seeing a physical form of Jack appearing from place to place makes more sense than seeing a mist form of a villain reciting some cheesy lines. What's the point?
