I figured that I should have a separate trip report for the Party since it will have a lot of photos. I know that not everyone can make it to the party many of them are already sold out, so I took a lot of photos to share with those who could not make it.
We were there for most of the week but we came down for the Halloween party.
We spent the first part of the day in the park, (that trip report will be coming), then we went to the hotel to change and rest up for the party.
Around 4 the three of us went to the park for the Party.
On the way to the security check area we saw a lady dressed as the ghost bride walking back to the hotels, her make up and costume were not allowed, latter on we saw her in the park in a modified costume and makeup. Tip #1 check the rules for costumes before you go.
We went in at 4 Pm two hours early, and then went to the Hungry Bear for the fried green tomato sandwich, this has become a tradition for us.
My daughter wanted to go see Merida as she has all of her favorite characters are redheads.
we were some of the first to meet her during the party.
We went through some of the candy lines and then went to toon town to check things out.
Tip #2 stay out of toon town or go early. We were in the candy line for some time and we were not getting anywhere fast. The place was packed. We got out of line and went to the rest of the park, Toon town closes around 7pm so make sure you get there right away if you want some of the character photos.
We went through 3 other lines in the amount of time we would have made it through one line in toon town.
Since I was dressed as Smee I wanted to get a photo with capt Hook. so we got in the line. Before we got to far the Hook party left, so We got so see Capt Jack Sparrow instead. Poor Smee no Capt Hook.
The nice Capt Sparrow recognized my plight and offered me a position on his crew, but I would have to work my way up to the spot as first mate since I fed Hook to the crocodile
I accepted his offer and explained my self by telling Capt Sparrow that the crocodile was hungry for cod fish.
It was all great fun.
The rivers of America had a lot of fog on them.
The halloween tree.
We went to the circle in front of the castle early in hopes of getting a place to sit. Yay we found a bench.
While waiting there I played with my camera it is a DSLR Cannon T3 rebel with the kit lense on it. I found that if I shot the castle at 1/25 shutter speed and auto ASA that most of my photos turned out ok.
Below are a few shots of the main street as it is decked out for the party.
The villain area in front of the Main street station.
More of main street
The castle and the fireworks. I live the Halloween fireworks.
I finally got a good photo of zero, yay.
After the fireworks we went back to the ship to see if Capt Hook was back, we got there in time to see him leave, I guess he still has not forgiven me for the crocodile incident.
We went down the side of the rivers of America and caught the cadaver dans singing. The last photo shows how much fog was there.
We the called it a night as we had to be up fairly early for the early entry into DCA.
I miss the scare crows though, I could not find them this year.
Over all the party was great, this was our 4th year and it never gets old.
