Here is a larger version of that photo. I couldn't attach it to that post because of the file size limits. But you can download it from http://fireworksland.com/misc/tomorrowlandfullsize.jpg

And here is a similar shot, courtesy of Dave DeCaro at Davelandweb:

Truly, that was a Golden Age for this park.

Both of these pictures show a beautiful time in Disneyland history. What amazes me is how clean everything is. Everything is space station white, and it is spotless. Tomorrowland should look like this, not gritty Star Wars land. A Star Wars land would of course be awesome, but it is not our future. Our future should be like this.

Just had to push this up.

It's been a wild ride of rumors for TL for 10 years now. From Tron to Marvel to Star Wars to nothing .....

If you want to remind the company of how Tomorrowland should be renovated in the future ... Push this into their attentions - as a cue to work from!

Doesn't have to be this -

But it needs to have some Originality, Be Bright, And Optimistic!

Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.

I wonder what possessed Disney to tear down TL and leave it in the shambles that it is now?

Also, the Peoplemover gave TL so much color along with the murals on the walls. It seems drab now.

Blatant grab at franchises that make money, and have very little or nothing to do with the land's core theme!

It stems from that debacle when they attempted to make TL look more "Jules Verne / Steampunk". Everything was painted Copper, Brass and brown. It works well in Disneyland Paris but the genre isn't so big here. Nobody liked it, Rocket Rods would not stay operational, and moving the Astro Jets was another mistake.

But it couldn't be reversed. Everything was painted white again but the updated PM track would no longer work with the old cars and they spent a ton of cash on other mistakes. They are gun shy about investing more money on TL.

DCA and Radiator Springs proves that if you spend money on a well thought out concept, the guests (and cash) will follow. Do a half a$$ job and you get trash.

TL needs a facelift, plain and simple. It doesn't have to be torn and replaced, but it needs money and a concept.

"Speaker phones weren't out yet" ... love this characterization. The phone company monopoly wanted to squeeze every dime out of every innovation so if people could not afford a speaker phone, there was absolutely zero reason for the phone company to innovate or change the rules to allow somebody to connect a speaker to their phone. Ahhhh yes, those were the days!
