    and these lovely ladies.

But most of all, I miss her.

I still remember the sounds of the Matterhorn while riding the Skyway....yeti roars, the roller coaster, the guests' screaming, and the wind.

    Change is good?

Not when these have to be sacrificed.

My memory goes a little further back... I remember looking down into the Matterhorn and seeing all the way to the bottom (if the light was right).

I remember seeing Progress City when the Peoplemover traveled through the Carousel of Progress building.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Wow. THAT Tomorrowland was a masterpiece. If they could really ever top that, it would be an accomplishment!

And not to sound overly dramatic and all, but Annette was nothing less than a treasure. She really should be honored officially at Disneyland.

Unfortunately I'm unable to be nostalgic for something I was not old enough to experience.
There is no right or wrong in this debate. It is simply a matter of perspective.

I still remember rockets over TL, Skyway across the Matterhorn, subs, Autopia, PeopleMover... the future was about movement and the whole section of the park was a kinetic wonder - especially at night.

Now it seems the future is a best buy store with no cashiers, a videogame and some attractions from decades ago.

I rode the subs, Autopia and People Mover, too. Although, I don't like the Nemo ride (too claustrophobic!) and haven't been on Autopia in about a decade or two, I hope they stay. They're part of Walt's original attractions. They're fun to just watch if you're not going to ride them. The Matterhorn could never leave!

I'm fine with Utopia moving to Cars Land. Utopia was big in 1955, because freeways didn't really exist! The Interstate Highway system was not started until 1956. It was fun to drive it as a kid though. Now I get enough driving "fun" on the way there.

I remember my first visit to Disneyland.......we entered not thru the front gate but via the Monorail.

Looking out the window I saw movement and energy everywhere... cars, motorboats, peoplemovers, another monorail, a skyway, submarines, even a building was moving...and above it all the Rocket Jets.

I don't know. I was born after all of these things went away, but I still kind of feel nostalgic for it. Maybe nostalgia isn't the right word, but I wish I was able to be there and see what early Disneyland was like.
    If only.

Early DL, I would run to Tomorrowland. Now I despise what they've done to it.

I almost hate to see pictures of the Peoplemover, I'd be so elated to get it back. Sometimes I wonder how Disney feels about the conversations that happen in Tomorrowland.

    "What's that track for?"
"Nothing, just an old ride that closed years ago"
"So are they going to put something else on that track?"
    "Guess not"
"What about that big hole in the side of the building that the track went through, they gonna patch that up?"
"Nah, we're supposed to pretend we don't notice that".

"It's called something, but I know it as the Carousel of Progress or America Sings. Now it just a reminder of how low TL has sunk".
