    Red Face WOC: Winter Dreams

WOC is by a mile my fave show at the resort. A little less since they've updated it, but still good. And I'm wondering what people think of the Xmas version. I hate seeing this dopey snow man all over it, but I'm hoping the shows actually gets more serious and dramatic in tone once you see it. The original ads for WOC didn't show how powerful it was, so I'm trying to stay hopeful, but the ads for this look really bad to me. What do you guys think? Too soon to tell, probably.

They seem to be creating a lot of animation for it. Too much. The weakest moments of WOC are the droning projection scenes. Here's hoping for more fountain choreography, but projections are a tremendous and terrible crutch they seem to keep leaning on.

So is this a full on holiday overlay, or just some segment they're gonna copy/paste into the original show?

Full on Holiday show. It'll be hosted by Olaf from Frozen and its theme "Glow" is going to be sung by an "Honor Choir" that people from all 50 states participated in that was organized by Eric Whitacre. There will also be fan made holiday cards that'll appear in the show. Also a new effect is said to be in the show.

I can't imagine WOC feeling the same without pirates and Little mermaid and pocahontas and and and In Australia we don't even know about Frozen yet. If it wasn't for these boards I wouldn't even know it was a disney movie.

I am very much excited about watching the WOC show for the first time. I hear a lot about the colors, themes and the character animation and I wonder how it will appear before my eyes. Hopefully it will be an amazing and adventurous show for me.

I can't help but think that the "new effect" is going to be snow bubbles instead of the regular bubbles that usually come out during the Little Mermaid scene.

I can't wait to see it. I miss DCA during Christmas, this will only make it better if the show is good.

Well you can have some idea of what is coming to DCA from the Disney Dreams of Christmas that has started today.
The show in Paris has not as many fountains as in DCA but I think the majority of the soundtrack and some scenes will be the same. Here is the first showing of the new show at Disneyland Paris.

Oh man, I hope not. This show is nothing but projections with fountains used as an accent. The last thing I would want to see is a ton of animation thrown up onto dim, blurry mist screens for 20 minutes. It would be a sad waste of an amazing grid of fountains... which WOC already kind of is.

    Re: WOC: Winter Dreams

Well you have to see that the show is designed differently since in Paris it is more a projections show than a fountain show. Here (in Paris), the fountains and fireworks are support for the projections rather than the main focus of the show.
I think that in DCA it will be different concerning the use of the fountains. But I think that at least some scenes and parts of the soundtrack will be the same as in Paris

Thanks for sharing. How do you think it compares to the original "Dreams"?

Well, first I haven't seen this new show live so I can't judge completely. However, from the video I have shared here, the show looks great and beautiful as the original Dreams. The soundtrack is amazing. However, in this new show you don't have such a clear storyline like with the original Dreams (where we follow Peter Pan's shadow). Much more like what you have with WoC.
But I love the show like I do Dreams. I think WoC: Winter Dreams will be amazing aswell
