If all they do is get rid of the tarp, I'll be happy.

There are a ton of non-functioning effects on the interior. I enjoy the ride--it opened the year of my birth. But they've really let it go to hell.

So, in addition to fixing the exterior, you might see interior effects fixed, but don't expect AAs or anything like that.

With Tony Baxter gone, who knows who is pushing for all the small things we've seen added like the new lighting effects at Snow White a few years ago, and the visible change of the apple to the tiny skull in the Hag's hand. Amazing small things that add so much.

Might be an opportunity for WDI to fine-tune how they use AA's and new effects, Avatarland and Shanghai DL being the major projects, adding some of them (new AA's/special effects) to Alice and gauging guest response might make Alice's closure an opportunity to do some R & D on a low-profile attraction.

I really hope they do something with the entire outdoor portion of this ride. For me, its just to bland.

I read this notice with great trepidation. Be very afraid, Kiddies. The crew refurbing Alice is the same group that brought you the new and "improved" Materhorn (sic). As far as I'm concerned, the less they do the better off we will be. WDI has done very little lately to show any hope of any plussing to the attraction.
Throw on top of that the delayed BTMRR refurb and the fiasco with Mara's voice on Indy, I see very little chance of anything positive coming of this. Hope for the best and expect the worst.

The exterior does indeed need help...and the tarp situation just ruins any sense of time, place, and theme. Utter ambiance and visual disaster for a quaint place like DL's Fantasyland.

I am sad that railings need to be installed above now, as it will ruin the neat effect previously present of feeling like you are really riding on top of leaves on the back of a caterpillar.

I can only hope said new railings and other additions will be properly THEMED and as non-intrusive as possible.

I side with Tony Baxter in regards to his fight to keep 'Alice' rail-free, but ya just can't win with legal in a situation like this i guess...

It should be possible to create rails that pop up when the ride shuts down, but are out of sight while the ride is running.

Well, since there is a new Alice in Wonderland show on TV right now, maybe they think the ride might be more popular then normal and decide to spruce it up. Mad Tea Party was just refurbished recently as well.
