Re: Billy Hill and the Hillbillies to RETIRE. Final performance on Jan 6th 2014

This is definitely sad news! I totally love their show and they will be missed. I doubt I'll get to see them again before their final performance.

Seen this pop up on Twitter and has been speechless ever since. I love this show and it is one of the live shows I will make an effort to catch every time. Since they have moved out of the Golden Horseshoe that place has been empty. This has to be one of the most popular shows.

Wondering who's decision this really is? Looking at the blog sounds like different seasonal performances are replacing the Jamboree so not really a new show. What next? No fireworks?

This makes me so very, very sad. We always stopped to see the Billies on each trip to Disneyland, and often would see 2 or more shows. I had a feeling when they were moved to Big Thunder Ranch that their attendance would go down, but this just breaks my heart. The Court of Angels closing was upsetting; this makes me very hesitant to go back to the park anytime soon. I certainly won't see them again before they leave, so I'm glad I got to last month, but still... a sad day, indeed.

This is sad. I'm a bit surprised because it seemed as though the Billies really attracted substantial crowds, even after they were moved to BTR.

This breaks my heart. My family loves to see them at least once or twice per trip, and it's a something we all love. I just can't even believe this sad news.

To say I'm disappointed would be the understatement of the year.
For our yearly trip we get an early flight just so we cane make it to the park early enough to have lunch and watch the Billies. It's the perfect start to our Disney vacation and sets the tone for our stay.
After seeing the lousy state of the park in 2012, we skipped going in 2013.
I had hoped things were getting better with all the recent maint. but this may just be the nail in the coffin for 2014.
Disney is going to have to do better than this.

Aww I'm sad about this. I always see them each visit and they are hilarious.
It was a good run though, I'm excited to see what Disney has in store next.

This statement is too generic to be reassuring. It tells me they've got nothing up their sleeves.

Well, there's still Farley and the performers (names escape me) who often are out for dinner at the Ranch Barbecue - the Billies missed very much and these folks of course don't 'replace' them, but there are other Frontierland musical performers now the blog article is probably referring to.

I'm curious whether it was Disney's decision or if some of the Billies were ready to move on. Or maybe even a little of both.
