    Brilliant.

I would hope that there is seniority that could be earned once a skipper has proven themselves and can get a little more free rein.

By the way, I had not heard about the penguin or polar bear anecdotes before to answer the question from a few pages ago. You really should consider writing a book...or at least a blog!

I think it was a poor idea to build expectations and give the overlay a name; they should have just done the same stuff they did already, but not advertise and play it up a lot; it makes sense for the skippers to be in a christmas mood, but advertising it as a full blown overlay was a bad idea

Yes, the attraction poster promises animals with Santa hats that the ride does not deliver.

^ I'm happy they added that. It makes sense for the gorillas to be wearing Santa hats because they are playing around with human stuff.

As I said I found the choice of animals amusing considering the previously unknown context.

To those complaining about the animals not having hats there's only a handful of places where I can see something like that working. Gorillas are an obvious choice; specifically the Gorilla on point interacting with the box (*** I miss Ginger). Another thought would be to put ripped up shreds of a bow by the tiger's mouth (old joke about losing a kitty with a bright red bow). Aside from that you have the 2 lion cubs that could be playing with an ornament on the tail of the mom... or a wreath on the rhino horns and various "presents" in the Trapped Safari scene. Natives are hit or miss (cultural issues) but skull canoe could be loaded with undelivered presents.

So the potential is there for next year should Disney chose to continue this tradition. I just wish the Skipper's holiday hats didn't look like roadkill that went through the back end of a tiger before being stepped on by an elephant...

How do you know it wasn't something the camper was planning to use to get himself a Jungle Turkey Dinner?

I finally got the chance to ride this. I thought it was cool. It's only temporary so I am ok with it. I don't think they really need to change the name though it should just be the Jungle Cruise and put the holiday decor on it.

    Re: Jingle Cruise sucks(?)

I've ridden it twice. First go 'round was... well... it's not the jokes to blame but the bland skipper. Forgot her name.

The second time was outrageously awesome... because of the skipper. Arven or Arvin? I forget his name.

The Jingle/Jungle Cruise is pretty much the same. I feel bad that folks expected more out of it, I really do, but as it is, it's a fun overlay that adds to the season.

As annual passholders though, people DO want to see what's new/different with their beloved Disneyland. And with that, you should go in expecting long waits for something that probably isn't worth it. But it's entirely what you make of it.

BTW, I changed the title of this thread because it's been bothering me from the get go. It doesn't suck. Disappointing? To some, very much so. I think it's a fine seasonal change. Nothing more.
