There is not a trace of him during the "mist" part? Just asking since I noticed that at WDW when I visited in the beginning of November that he is not there either, but his dialogue could still be heard during the part where you'd see him.
I heard about him not being in DL anymore a little while back and while at WDW I wanted to not only enjoy the ride, but see for myself if there was a change possibly here as well.
I wonder if it was a broken effect, or they thought it would be better in some way to not show Blackbeard and just hear a mysterious, warning voice (because honestly if it wasn't for seeing his face originally I wouldn't know who's voice it was).
Interesting ... that management decided to remove an element that comes directly from the film franchise. I thought that would never happen. The fact that their fabulous film franchise and all the new elements would stay forever, and look what happens!!
If this management was that keen to remove one part, makes me wonder about the longterm of the ride - And if future managements find Jack Sparrow "a trend from the past" at one stage - then my reaction will be WOO-HOO! Good riddance! I miss the original ride, and all of it's original music throughout the ride.
Dear Peoplemover Fans, If you want to see a new attraction that at least mimics the 1967 Peoplemover in a future Tomorrowland remodel, you need to write to the powers-that-be, and let them know. If you don't - Then the next time Tomorrowland is remodeled, you will see a land barren of any "Peoplemover" type attraction.
I thought it was a neat idea to have both Blackbeard and Davy Jones on the mist screen. Mostly because it was a nice nod to the original ghostly voices that were there before. I must admit that the first time I saw Blackbeard there though I was confused of him being there. Then I remembered the limbo curse he was under in Blackbeard's Ghost.
