Question What Maleficent Promotion Should Disneyland Do?

Well, the Maleficent teaser has hit the net, and it looks pretty good:

Doubtlessly, the movie will be heavily promoted at Disneyland given Sleeping Beauty castle and a certain animatronic dragon which lives on Tom Sawyer Island. What do you think is the best way to promote this film in the park?

I think every fairy tale in the park should be turned into a self-actualization modern parable regardless of appropriateness, theme and general quality of the redo.

Wait. Are we talking about the movies or rides?

A Sleepy Beauty Castle overlay would be awesome, if designed and executed well. This is the perfect time to really spiff up Fantasyland for this film, especially the castle. Give it a twisted, wicked forest-type look. Maybe add more Maleficent in the walk through.

I'd be happy if they did nothing, but I know that will never happen.

I'll second that. Nothing would be the perfect answer. I don't think we need a monorail wrap or an inflatable dragon scotch-taped to the castle.

ORDDU: A parade would be perfectly fine with us. They once had a Sleeping Beauty calvacade back in the late 80's. But a special parade--like they once did for Snow White--would be wonderful.

ORWEN: I think it's always the right thing for Disney to promote their newest movies at the parks. They'd be pretty lazy if they didn't.

I think it would be great if they screened it at Tom Sawyer Island, even though it affects me very little. Thorny vines climbing the castle would also be a nice touch.

Sleeping Beauty Castle temporarily becoming Maleficent's Castle with a thorn thicket around the castle with the paint being gray and black.

I don't think they should do anything special, but I highly doubt that will happen. A premiere on the water, similar to the Pirates premieres, would be cool.

The movie looks like pure CGI, so I'm not totally on board just yet. I'm waiting for a full trailer to make up my mind.
I wish Frozen would have never been made.

I feel very "meh" about this movie. Maybe it's just the trailer. Maybe it'll actually be great! But as of right now, I don't really have an interest in it.

However, the castle being covered in thorny vines would be awesome! Haha

Sorry, I'm going to be a "wet blanket"

Notice how Disneyland Management never puts too much emphasis on the host of "Disney Character Villains" ?

They avoid too much emphasis on "dark" themes. They always have.

A premiere at the Rivers of America?
Oh ... you mean those events that are for the Hollywood Elite Only .. and make it difficult enjoy a day at the park, by sectioning off areas? Close rides, and make it difficult to maneuver around the west side, and Main Street. I feel sorry for vacationers who spend thousands .. and have no idea when a "Hollywood Premiere" takes over.

My vote would be for a set of high-quality animated window displays in the Emporium.

Went all out and voted for the dark ride

But realistically I'd like a preview or a pass holder screening would be cool. For those who don't like this sort of thing and think they don't belong in the park, isn't the existence of this thread alone show that people actually enjoy them despite the fact they are blatant marketing tools?
In the quest for quality, I have no problem with the characters footing the bill.
