Ah, details, details. Next you're going to tell me POTC isn't underground, but is instead in a basement.

flynnibus is correct - hence why there are stories of the subs "jumping the track." All I can say is thank goodness I've never experienced that...evacuating the subs isn't exactly easy. I think Mouse Tales goes into some depth regarding that.

Hmm well I hope they start working on something in Tomorrowland. It really needs an update soon. I was really hopeful to see some changes.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I love it when rumors turn out to be false.

Re: Submarines plan to close permanently Jan 4 other bad news

The last Mice Age update in late November said that the closure date for the subs was just the last day of the fiscal year. It's they way they do it when there is no known end date yet, it said.

It also said that permanent closure was planned with the Star Wars revamp of Tomorrowland, which they also said was on hold.

"the Star Wars announcement was supposed to give them the cover they needed to quietly close the 54 year old submarine attraction for a second time.
Unlike in 1998 however when Paul Pressler weaseled his way into the first closure with no replacement plan, this closure would be permanent as the caverns show building was to be demolished to build the Ewok’s forested home planet. But now that the Star Wars plan is on hold thanks to the horrible condition of WDW’s NextGen project, TDA is going to go ahead with the closure falsely labeled a “refurbishment” with the hopes that Burbank will reopen the purse strings later in 2014 and the Star Wars announcement can finally be made to save face. Fans of the submarines would be wise to get in their last rides before January 4th."

I think one could come to the conclusion, as many have on here, that the whole story is BS. It could also just be that we haven't gotten to the part where they are right, yet. Either way, who knows?

How is the rumor proven false? 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was closed for refurbishment and never reopened.

I'm pretty sure it WAS announced when the previous version of the Subs closed (I even Made a last minute trip to DL, to see that version, before it closed..

Perhaps you meant the Rocket Rods, THAT attraction even had a sign saying it would return and never did.

Being that they put the reopening date as the last fiscal date on the calendar, I really am somewhat skeptical whether it will return . . . and IF it does NOT, . . . I won't pleased, and will likey much further delay any future return to what was previously known as the happiest place on earth . .

He is referring to the subs in Disney World which closed in 1994

Re: Submarines plan to close permanently Jan 4 other bad news

So I was at the parks last week...and luckily I was able to see the Sea Bass before the walls went up, but that was the extend of my experience with the ride. The caverns were completely open and the lights on inside allowing a peak at the catwalk, which was very strange. I was able to lean over and point to the exit, and told my girlfriend "that's where the sea serpent used to be!" right before a little kid began to ask his brother if they could see Nemo in the water...

Who else is excited for the water to be drained?
