Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

I'm guessing that even if they are leaning towards permanently closing the ride that there would still be activity draining the lake, etc.

Only time will tell what happens.

Looks like they're setting up a net for water volleyball.

Oh didn't you know? That's the new attraction for the 60th Anniversary! For an up charge you can go into the lagoon and play water volleyball while the subs run around you. Disney is not liable if you are hit by a sub. It's how they are subsidizing the cost to run this attraction. For even more money you can also wear a mermaid outfit and sit on a rock.

Try to remember everyone ... the last time the Submarine Voyage was left closed, indefinitely, (1998-2005) ... they just left the sub lagoon alone, with it's water in, with no construction walls surrounding the perimeter.

Construction walls have gone up. An indicator for refurb.

I have no idea what that pipe is for.

I'm not sure what their procedure has been in the subs 55 year history for refurbs, to drain it. I bet the chlorination/pump facility near the Chiller Plant (behind the DLRR) is where they drain it.

I'm sure that water volleyball would have a significantly lower hourly capacity than the subs currently have

Oh .. it would be so funny if someone can photoshop some people in the water, and a volleyball being tossed around.

Maybe this will be a new TL Lounge expansion exclusively for Club 33 Members only, as the next step in turning the entire resort over exclusively for Club 33 Members only!

If they're going to drain the lagoon, they would just open a valve at the filter pump-house and divert it into the sanitary sewers.

Then it takes a trip through the sewer plant, and comes out as Reclaimed Water to water golf courses and county parks, or get released into settling basins to replenish the local aquifer for eventual reuse.

They've done big PR Press Releases in the past on how they recycle all the water like that. But the County has limits on how fast they can feed the lagoon water into the system, they could overload the sewer plants.

Supposedly they already got permission to divert the water, so I'm assuming they're waiting until they actually drain the water before they announce that part.

With this latest update: Disneyland Resort off season is blissfully uncrowded

I find it hard to believe the lagoon is just going to sit, waiting for approval from the big bosses for a "Star Wars" overhaul.

Looks a lot more like a coming REFURBISHMENT of the ride.

Since when do lots of blue tarps, temporary walls, and divers discovered in a lagoon ... indicate leaving the lagoon to sit unused for the longhaul?

EDIT - I thought I'd take a look at what the Disney Park Blog site has to say .. the best I could find is a column a month old - http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blo...ent-january-6/

If this is a lie coming from Disney, would this be a "Disney Park's Blog" first?
