    Re: Disneyland Hotel 1990's

Oldhotelguy, You just made my morning!! This is how I best remember the hotel as my first and only two visits thus far occurred in 1996 and 1998. The contemporary style to me is hilarious, it looks much more earlier 90's than later on. And I remember those soaps too!! I took home a bunch of those and I remember them as saying something like, "Everybody nice and pretty? Then on with the show!" or something to that effect. Even though I was in my early teens, I understood the metaphorical meaning behind it and to this day that stands out in my mind.

Thanks for posting these! I know the "marina" years were not the most kid friendly, but I always enjoyed it. It was a nice quiet place to spend an afternoon. Thanks for the memories.

    Re: Disneyland Hotel 1990's

The suite photos brought back great memories. We got one as a free upgrade for our honeymoon. His grandmother had reserved a regular room for us but when they found out we had just gotten married a few hours before, they upgraded us to a penthouse suite in the Magic tower with a view over both the pool area and the parks so we watched the fireworks with room service. The ballroom was nice to see again, my senior prom was held there. I'll have to dig into my old pics, my grandparents used to take me there to play with the boats and see the Dancing Waters show back in the 80's.

I was hoping that this would bring back some not so distant memories.

Man, this takes me back - I worked at the DLH in 95/96, right around the time they got the Pacific.

Loved these photos, as it's the hotel generation I remember most fondly (1990-1999). Miss a lot of these aspects, even though the current hotel is pretty nice.

Someone else beat me to the HP III reference, which is indeed 1990..but they lasted well past 2000 because they were so good.

Funny, the 90's doesn't seem all that long ago...in fact, seems like just yesterday when the Hotel looked just like this.

If I were in charge of new ideas at the Disneyland Hotel, I would build an original two-story garden structure and design it just like the 50's/60's and let people re-live their honeymoons or memories there. I bet these rooms would be booked solid!

Excellent photos again, oldhotelguy! I stayed there in the mid-90s and this is how I remember it.

I don't think that is Alfredo in the picture. I remember him. He was taller.

80's and 90's Disneyland Hotel is all I ever knew. Always appreciate your older pictures of the hotel but love the personal nostalgia I get when you post the latter years. =)
