Let's try and hop out of the boat or something. Dude this water looks so deep. DUUUUDE" the whole ride... it made the ride for a bad experience for me and I hopped out of the boat as soon as we got back to load/unload, told the CM at the exit, she called security, and I got to see them all get tailed by two security guards and dragged off behind stage. Wonder what happened to them... haha.

Oh, my! It's good to know that security is right around the corner!

I almost died on Mr. Toad when I was a kid. I already mentioned this story on a couple of other threads, but I thought I would say it again here just to keep this thread going!

    Ha! Well thank you!

Wait, what? You almost died on Mr. Toad's?! Was it a ride accident or something? I must have missed your other posts about it. Scary!

Re: Any "Interesting" Stories of Your Time at the Parks? (The Good, Bad, or the UGLY!

When I was a kid my parents would load all of us kids into the station wagon and head off to Disneyland in the off -season (winter) but not to go to the park; it was just to buy ticket books to use for the next summer. Back then if you had a Magic Kingdom Club card you got a small discount for ticket books, and the ones sold during the winter were not the standard A,B,C,D,E tickets---- all the tickets in the off season book could be used on any ride. So basically they could all be E tickets if you wanted them to be, and they were good anytime of the year.

So dad would pay to park (like 50 cents back then) and we would ride the tram up to the main entrance and buy our ticket books and then go back home. It was just agonizing to be that close to the park, hearing all of the sounds of the train and the gunshots at the Jungle Cruise, but not get to go inside. Then the odd thing was that in the summer when we came back my mom would give us a hard time if we wanted to go on too many 'C-ticket' rides with the special tickets because she looked them as being all E tickets. Mom would say, "no you can't go on Mr. Toad and waste a E ticket."

Okay, so I didn't actually die or come close to dying on the ride, but at 7 or 8 years old going on the ride for the first time and not being prepped about how it's not really me who had to drive the car, I THOUGHT I was going to die and kill my mom and little sister while I was at it!!! That ride scared the pixie dust out of me and I thought I had to actually steer the car away from each obstacle. I wasn't the brightest little girl. I hated my parents for putting me on that ride (for about 5 minutes). I got a new hat to make me feel better. It worked for a while. I'm still afraid of that ride and I will NOT EVER GO ON THAT RIDE EVER AGAIN.

    Upsetting...

This week I got on the Monorail at the Downtown Disney station. After the doors closed, but before we began to move, I heard a loud thump of somthing hitting the fiberglass floor. Across from me a young mother picked up her unconsious 2 year old girl, who after a few secounds woke up and started screaming. The little girl was bleeding out of both nostrils, screaming, crying, and gasping for air the entire trip. It takes about five minutes for the Monorail to get to the Tomorrowland station, with no chance to do anything. It was the longest five minutes I have ever experienced at Disneyland.

I told the parents where First Aid was...and escorted them quickly through Tomorrowland. I knew that DL First Aid would take excellent care of the kid.
What a way to start your day!

His mother was completely oblivious, I had to resist the urge to shout "NOOOOOO!!! Stoppp!" But, my friends and I were laughing really hard and we didn't want to ruin the magic

aside from the danger... it is really kind of amazing most kids reach maturity (or something close)

say a guy, on Small World, stand and step out of the boat, he walked along the side, stepped back into the boat, did this two more times, I kept expecting some security action, nothing......

I was kind of surprised at how dangerous it is and nothing was done, no one stopped them when they got off the boat... like oh well, leap on and off the attractions... I was baffled

Once while waiting in line for a ride a young man urinated into a plastic zip-lock baggy and then his mother placed it in her purse. I was totally shocked and assumed that the bag of pee was going to be tossed on someone during the ride as a prank, hopefully not me. When I alerted a CM and told him what I saw I thought he wasn't going to believe me, but he asked me to point the people out with the bag of pee and he proceeded to ask them to take it to a restroom and dispose of it. When I asked him what that was about he told me that in some countries it is acceptable for young men to do this as long as they dispose of it later.

I guess this would be an ugly story lol.

Oh my gosh! Ewww! I'm glade that the CM did something about it.

I think that definitely would classify as an ugly story! Yikes!

Re: Any "Interesting" Stories of Your Time at the Parks? (The Good, Bad, or the UGLY!

Here is another story that I was just thinking about.

It was a busy and bustling Sunday in December. Our family decided to hop aboard a boat to take a spin around the Caribbean (Pirates). The line was moving normally. We finally got up to the front of the line, and got the first row of our boat. By the time we got on our boat, the other boats in front of us were starting to back up (all the way from the first 'drop' to where you board the boats). We crept along at a snails pace, and -call it intuition, or some sort of Disney ride clairvoyance - but I knew that something was going to go down while we were aboard our voyage. We finally crept, along with the other boats, to about half way through the ride. At the transition tunnel is where our voyage halted, and the rest of this story will be told.

    What's your worst fear?

The dark? Confined spaces? The guy in the mist repeating himself on a loop in Pirates? - Try adding all three into one incident.

We got stopped right at the entrance of the transition tunnel. After about 5 minutes, a cheery CM came on the loud speaker, "Aaaattention, pirates! Our voyage has came to a halt. Please remain seated and a CM will be with you shortly!" So we followed directions and remained seated, all while we the "Mist Guy" repeated his spiel on a loop while we were stuck for around 20 minutes. The CM came on the loud speaker periodically to repeat his same instructions. Eventually, the "Mist Guy" and background music was shut off while the lights came on, to the stuck passengers applause. People were starting to get pretty antsy. Not even 5 minutes later, the same, now very flustered, CM came on the loud speaker to say, "WHOEVER IS OUT OF THEIR BOAT NEEDS TO GET BACK IN THEIR BOAT!!! That's VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!! I repeat, GET BACK IN YOUR BOAT!!!!" Now, I don't believe anyone got out of their boat, maybe the CM saw a skeleton in one of the scene and thought it was a person, but then again, we couldn't see too far past the bend behind us.

After another 10 minutes pass, we eventually see a couple of swashbucklin' lady pirate CMs appear out of the door that is in the transition tunnel. They start unloading the 3 boats ahead of us, row by row. Very carefully, they would assist each person, grabbing both arms as the person stepped off the boat onto the rock ledge that leads to an exit door. The CMs finally reached the boat ahead of us, and got half way through the boat when tragedy struck...

The CMs were on the end ledge of the rock, where the tunnel begins, as they were helping another row evacuate the boat. One CM was on the very edge of the ledge holding onto the arm of the next person to evacuate the boat. She got too close to the edge and............... fell into the water.

Everybody gasped. (Well, everybody except for my little brother. He thought it was hilarious and gave a big belly laugh... It actually was a pretty funny situation, if it wasn't so sad! I promise I'm not heartless! Even the CM was giving a smile.) The, surely embarrassed, CM hopped back onto the ledge and went over to the white phone located in the transition tunnel.

Eventually, we got out of the boat, and exited through the Blue Bayou kitchen. We got a free FP for any ride in the park. Pirates was down for most of the day, and opened back up that night.

Even though over an hour was taken out of our day, I am still so happy to have experienced getting 'stuck' on pirates. I love things that happen outside of normal operations (...sick, I know! LOL) That was one experience that I will NEVER forget!

I'm sure that CM didn't think that was funny.
