That's an interesting possibility! We were thinking that it was a bit "coincidental" that the dimmed lights started just a little before the original planned shut-down for refurbishment. Maybe it's all connected?

Has it been confirmed when in April it will be down? I originally wanted to plan my trip in April but now because of Space and POTC, I'm considering going in very late May but ugh...thinking of the crowds...

Go to the interactive park map on the DLR site and click on PotC and it will tell you

Thank goodness that POTC refurbishment has been pushed back, that ride is a classic. Thanks for the information. Only if Splash Mountain would be pushed back as well.

Yeah it's too dark in there. You can barely see the cats. Same deal as Splash Mountain, really dim lighting. I also noticed the first guy shooting in the armory scene on the right side of the boat (who was missing for a while) seems to have really limited movement now.

This week, we rode it twice. The first skeleton standing against the wall with the seagull on his hat was so dark, as well as the "Here, kitty kitty kitty" pirate and cats.

At first I thought there must be something wrong with my eyes, but I was not the only one who said so. Throughout the ride everything appeared dimly lit. Wonder why that was?
funny (odd funny) we went through New Years day, I kept blinking thinking my eyes were cloudy... sometimes allergy/eye strain does that... it seemed grey above....
when I was outside again my vision was fine, I forgot about it

    pirates closed... rats.... for long?

Thunder Mountain's reopening has been pushed back from late January to later in March now. They had to move the Pirate rehab because of that. It has nothing to do with Club 33.

    THE LIGHTS ARE BACK ON!!!
We went today, and it looks like the lights are pretty much back to normal throughout the ride. For some reason "Ol' Bill" and his cat still seemed pretty dim, but it appeared that everywhere else was normally lit.
