Re: What happens after the unload zone on HM?

I always thought it would be some creepy corridor that went on forever because I could not for the life of me figure out the layout of the mansion. But this past summer I went with my disabled friend and yep it's like everyone says, you round that corner to the right and go down this short corridor which is just painted black walls, pretty boring looking, and in like a couple of seconds your turning right and descending into the load zone. I was pretty surprised.

And I always thought the buggies just disapeared and they had a factory spitting out new ones...

Since Bob didn't say it, the color diagram on top is Disneyland, after you make the 180-turn the curtain is on the left - the "Tower" control desk is in that room, where they monitor the CCTV Cameras for any untoward behavior.

And the Stretch Rooms at DL are really large freight elevators. Down is easy, they just open the valve - but they don't have enough hydraulic pump power to go up with a full load of people. Maybe a dozen tops, a few handicapped parties at a time.

And the B&W diagram at the bottom is Florida. They don't have to go 'under the berm' to a ride building on the outside, so their Stretching Rooms don't really stretch - the ceiling goes up to complete the effect, but you walk out at the same level.

In both cases, the service area is behind you as you enter the Attic - the blank room with a roll-up door and removable floor plates around the track. They do a few Omnimover cars at a time, then advance the belt to bring the next few forward.

    Thanks Bruce... my mistake.

I wonder if they have a cast member to look at each vehicle as it passes between the unloading and loading zone, to see if any items were left behind in the vehicles?

That was actually one of the attractions I think would have been a cool one to work. That, and Pirates. Never worked the Westside though.

I know that walking the belts on ATIS left a lot to be desired as far as Tomorrowland attractions were considered though too.

Actually you're all wrong. There's a secret part of the ride in between the unloading and loading areas that is exclusively for Club 33 members. That's where they built the museum of the weird and some of the other ideas that the had for HM that "supposedly" didn't make it in the ride.

Re: What happens after the unload zone on HM?

Big D: Sorry, No. There *is* just enough room for a quick vignette as you round the bend (that couldn't be seen from either Load or Unload) but it would be so short as to almost be anticlimactic.

At least at Disneyland, they could make a point of leaving the Tower curtain open so you can see the control console, all the CCTV monitors through the ride, and other interesting stuff like the Lockout/Tagout board you use before walking out into the ride building. Wave at the nice CM... Then you round the corner and drop down a bit, and you're at Load again.

In my opinion, this is a brilliant feature of this attraction because the people coming in do not see the people leaving. It is as if the HM is going to swallow the guest forever! Of course, it really only has the full impact the very first time the guest experiences it.
