Old Disneyland Souvenir maps (1968, 198?, 1998, 2001(DCA)) LOTS OF PICS

So I found my moms old souvenir maps. These are the ones that have to be purchased in the parks. They are all about 3.5' x 2.5'. They were folded up in the garage. I'm seriously trying to get her to frame the 1968 one, which is in pretty decent condition. Anyways, I'm going to go in reverse order, to make the 1968 map the grand finale. ENJOY!

PS: If you want a close-up of any of these pictures, click on them and on the next page there is a magnifying glass in the bottom right of each photo. They are quite large, so if you have a slow computer, watch out. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A CLOSER LOOK AT SOME OF THESE!

Note how they show the show buildings on this map. Also, the Haunted Mansion is listed as a "Future Attraction"

    Cool! Thanks for sharing.

The map with the mystery year must be from between '89 and '92 because it features Splash Mt. and Mission to Mars.

Cool! I have the Disneyland souvenir map of 1964, which contains Liberty Street and Edison Square lol. My map also doesn't contain It's a Small World.

It's time to display them, and if you go to Michael's, they have a process where they put your map on a styrofoam board and suck most of the folds out of it.

I recommend this to preserve your maps.

Those are really wonderful - an art form unto itself.
I noticed the 1968 map shows a place on Main St. where two trolley cars can pass each other. Is there still a spot like that? I don't remember seeing it.

    Thanks Linus.
    Why I haven't noticed I don't know - time to go back I guess.

So cool, thanks for sharing! I love these maps. I have one from the 70's, another from I think maybe late 90's or something like that, and the one from 2005. I wish I'd bought the 2001 DCA one, at the time I didn't have enough enthusiasm for the park but in hindsight it would have been nice to have a copy of that very first one before all the new stuff.

Just to fill in the gap, here's mine from 1983 (a bit worn and seemingly stained in one spot). It's very similar to the "198?" one above, but even without the copyright date you can tell it's from the 1983 timeframe by references to "the new Fantasyland", Bear Country instead of Critter Country, etc.

Thanks for sharing! Defiantly frame the 1968 map for sure.
