Dark rides a little darker than in the past?

Went back to DL for the first time in 10 years (just moved back here from out on the East coast), and every dark ride I went on (POTC, HM, Toad, you name it), it seemed like the lighting for everything on every one of those rides was a LOT darker than I remember it being.

Is it just me & my night vision gotten remarkably worse over the last 10 years, or are there others who've noticed the same thing?

Yes! I thought it was just me too. I noticed it more profoundly on Splash Mt. I was wondering if it was an energy saving tactic.

I completely agree too! Not only on the rides but around the park itself. At night it seems to be so dark it really is hard to see!

I actually think all the Florida attractions look brighter. The LED fixtures deliver a lot more lumens at saturated colors (deep blues, for example) than a gel-fitted halogen source, which would have been the legacy fixtures.

I really like the fact that Disney doesn't light up the whole park like a football field. It makes DL take on a whole different feeling at night.

POTC was very dark at the beginning but got lighter as the ride progressed. HM was pretty dark.
