Sub Lagoon Gratuitous Reality Failure Watch

This isn't about the closure/non closure of the ride.

This is something a bit more fun.

Addressing the longstanding rumor that the Matterhorn/Monorail/Autopia/Motorboats/Peoplemover/Entire State of California will slide into a massive sinkhole the moment the lagoon's drained here.

The lagoon's drained. Anyone capable notice the Matterhorn leaning at a suspiciously jaunty angle? Any cars and tourists suddenly not making it back to the station on Autopia? Anyone spotted Colglazier desperately holding back a surging groundwater table with a lightup lightsabre screaming YOU WILL NOT PASS?

I'm personally hoping for a surge of mole people to come pouring out of the show building and take all the available fastpasses for Space Mountain.
Credibility is to be sought for. Credulity is not. Sadly the latter is our normal human state.

It'll only be one mole-person, thankfully utilizing a voice eerily-similar to John Ratzenberger.

I tripped on the sidewalk in front of my house for no apparent reason - possible connection to the lagoon draining?

When riding on the monorail, I noticed a new sign being painted backstage by the Indiana Jones show building. The sign read "Space Hill"

Guess the speculation is not ENTIRELY without merit.

Actually, when they first started draining it we noticed a smell as if sewers were backing up in Fantasyland and near the front entrance (just past the Main St. RR) - really!

If the speculation that a sinkhole was to collapse that area was true, wouldn't it have happened in 2006-2007 while the lagoon was drained to install the Nemo equipment? I don't see any fact in that statement what so ever as the Matterhorn obviously did not sink and you think that managment would have noticed in the past 7 Years that FNSV has been open. If a sinkhole does open up in the ground, it should be big enough for just two people cough Paul Pressler...cough Cynthia Harris cough cough...

I think you misread the sign, because I saw it and it read Space Mound-ain.

Those are "normal" - when they put in the storm drains there are inevitably a few low spots when the dirt settles a bit. The stuff they wash off the streets collects and (ahem) "Brews" in the dips. They dump a bunch of odor neutralizer down the drains, and it stops for a few days.
