A Mighty Big Flaw in the Indiana Jones Single Rider

    Let me expand.

When me and my sister made use of the Single Rider system at IJA, there was a rather large group behind us. I seemed suspicious at first, but they had their SR passes. We waited in the projector room as usual, then were directed up the ramp.

Here is where the problem lies.

Anyone can simply slip an SR pass into their pocket at this point and insert themselves into the regular line. Lucky for us, we notified the CM at the elevator, but she had already seen that they snuck their passes away while coming up the ramp. They were directed up with us on the elevator, unhappy with their attempt.

This is a very small fix: simply navigate the SR's up the rest of the exit path to the elevator (there would be a new line for this), like California Screamin'. These two attractions basically have the same configuration in terms of the SR layout.

It's a small bug in a large pond of problems that are already hitting the resort, but it would be nice if someone addressed the problem.

there is a similar problem with TSM, when the line enters the roofed area (with ceiling fans) there are sections with only a chain, often people jump in there, pretending they are trying to catch up with someone ahead in line. No one seems to watch that at all... the sad thing is, the more often some does that, the more others will... eventually there will be confrontations.
I'm with you, the situation can be avoided by not offering the opportunity for opportunists to cheat the system....

we were in line for Radiator Spring Racers when a woman pushed past everyone, saying she was joining someone ahead... the cast member stopped her and and seemed to be requiring her to contact the person she was supposedly meeting... the look she gave the cast member might have frightened a less well trained person ;-)
the woman put on a show of calling with her cell phone... never really looking for the supposed person in the crowd, then she did a "how can you be so unkind to my child" act, as if the line were not full of children waiting patiently with their parents... eventually the cast member sent her back to get in line
after so often having people push (and I mean pushing) past us in that line, and climbing over the rails to the end of the line, I was pleased to see more attention given to fair play....

Yes, I once saw a group keep walking up the stairs. They handed their passes to the Cast Member at the bottom though so I'm pretty sure they just missed the spot where you take the elevator.

Also there were two guys who managed to get on the jeep before a cast member noticed. The seat-belt CM and the one who caught them got into an argument on weather or not to take them off the jeep. The CM at the dispatch was arguing that it was too inefficient to take them off and just to let them go through (probably best considering how busy it was). However the other CM then stood on the edge of the jeep and said "you can't send it with me on it". He then quickly backed down and they let them through.

    I disagree...

And I'd think that if anyone cut in front of you in line you'd disagree, too.

I'm with you on this. These people should be publicly shamed for their brazen attempts to cut.

No. The problem is immature jerks with no respect for the rules and/or how their actions are negatively impacting the experience of other guests. Blithely ignoring that others are bypassing the line, getting on the ride sooner and making all of the other guests wait longer is not 'lightening up'. Grow up, it's supposed to be the happiest place on Earth for all guests.

I would say they were lucky he was calm and simply told a CM. Given a long day it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for someone to simply grab one of the cheaters and slap them down. When I was younger and had much less patience I can remember doing that to some moron that tried to cut in line - you never know when the person your cutting in front of is too tired to give a hoot about the consequences of smacking you sideways.

No they should be escorted from the park and banned. Once it happened to a few people you would suddenly see people behaving better.

I said it before and I'll say it again... there should be a policy implemented stating if your complete party is not entering the line you can't enter unless you are willing to not ride together. No cuts, no catching up with your group already in line, etc.. I have seen cutting way too much.

But even with that said, I think the Indiana Jones queue has a lot of problems. Single rider and FP doesn't really do you much good because in the end it feeds you into the exact same line as standby. I got a FP for Indy the last time and all it does is basically skip the outdoor queue. You practically wait through the entire inside section which is a majority of the standby wait.
I am so sick of Frozen I can't even describe the feeling.

Once again, the problem isn't Disney, but the park guests failure to respect the rules. Do we even deserve Disneyland?

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

This is why we can't have nice things. The line cutting is really getting out of control. There have been a few trips I've gone on where a large group of people try to pass our group trying to "catch up with their group" and we just refuse to move. Too bad buddy. Now if it's a parent and a small child or two small children who are clearly trying to catch up to the rest of their family, that's one thing. But when 15 rowdy teenagers are trying to push past... no.

I disagree... Disney is as much to blame as the guests and in some way more to blame.

Disney is the one that came up with the rules, yet they seem to be unconcerned with enforcing those rules... By failing to do anything when they see someone break the rules they are encouraging others to break those same rules, so that eventually no one will be following the rules at all...

Each time a guest sees someone cut in line and not get punished but actually get rewarded that increases the desire of the guest watching to do the same thing... One line jumper isn't going to create chaos over night, but when it just goes on and on it starts to snowball...

where as if Disney yanked a few line jumpers out of line and escorted them out of the park you would see more guests that were potential line jumpers suddenly reevaluate the reward and punishment of the behavior and not jump in lines.
