    Subs in Shareholder Meeting

Bob Iger just addressed a question about the Subs being repurposed for a Marvel or something attraction.

His response was that the ride is so unique and unique to Disneyland and was created by Walt and that it is an important part of the parks and it isn't going anywhere.

He also did say they are looking into options for bringing Star Wars and Marvel into the parks, hinted at the 60th vaguely, but stuck to his guns on the subs staying.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

Not a big fan on the ride... Really like the lagoon though, as well as seeing the subs going around the lagoon. Glad its staying. Hopefully they update enough things to make me want to at least go on it after the refurb

Grrr!! The subs not closing really bothers me. I would defend it if the subs were still the original submarine voyage, but I see no real reason why they should stay as it is now. It is a waste of space, and something even greater can easily take it's place. It has absolutely nothing to do with Tomorrowland! So when a Tomorrowland redo comes by in a few years, the subs will make the area seem out of place with it's given Nemo theme.

How do you know a Tomorrowland redo is coming in a few years? How do you know if the Subs are not going to be redone in a different theme? You see no reason why they are staying the same but maybe Disney does with Finding Dory coming soon.

Great to hear. Echoing superlarz's response, I don't like the ride very much, but I adore the lagoon. That view from the monorail platform over the subs towards the Matterhorn is my favorite in the park.

Glad to hear Mister Iger finally putting the sub closure rumor to rest. But who else is excited about the Incredibles 2 finally happening?

    Re: Subs in Shareholder Meeting

With Nemo 2 coming it would be silly to close the closest tie in that they have at Disneyland. I for one would not miss the subs, so much as miss the lagoon.
