Red Face "it's a small world" 50th Anniversary Celebration

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of IASW's opening at the 1964 New York World's Fair (the actual date is April 22), Disney is putting together a global sing-along. You can watch videos, submit a recording, or make a doll on the specially created website*. Here is a link:

It is good to know the Disney characters did not become the focus of the attraction like so many here feared.

^^^I think I'm probably the only one who doesn't like that song.

But, Small World…..one of my old homes away from home. Love the attraction. Such a classic.

If everyone in the world started singing IASW at the same time, what would happen?

BTW, I find it strange and sad that they're making this huge fuss over Small World turning 50 and yet the original at DL is down for refurbishment. Anyone know if they plan on at least having it open by its actual birthday in April? Also I hope a full paint job is in the works because when I saw it on the train a couple weeks ago the facade looked awful.

$1 for every recording/doll made donated to UNICEF, eh? Seems like a great cause, but I haven't seen this being promoted much anywhere (I found this from this thread), it'd be nice if the word spreads around a little more. I'm curious with how this develops.

I agree, i wish the attraction was open with all of the attention they are trying to give it. They will be opening it for a few days and then it is going right back into refurb mode.

That's crazy!! They knew the 50th was coming up, why didn't they do the refurb earlier??

It opens for a week or two before it goes back down...very sad!

edit: I just checked, it is open for 10 days, 4/10-4/20
