I agree, I don't ride it but... it has a nice look and a lot of people do ride it, it also does not really take a lot of space (no pun intended)

According to the rumors I've heard, yes, the "french fry" rocks will also go to Yesterland.

They are removing the rockets and actually replacing them with more rocks.

I have a very hard time believing that they'd return a spinning attraction back atop the old platform. If they did want to do this, they'd probably remove the platform and the PM track that emanates in front of it and build a new one. Or, it would be more feasible for them to just relocate the ride in place of the platform without it being elevated if they feel they really need to move it. Or, of course, just not replace it at all.

I think part of what would make the attraction awesome would be the elevation. Hopefully they do not just add it at ground level somewhere else.

Maybe they can combine rides and make every other elephant a rocket ship. That way they can free up space at the congested Tomorrowland entrance as this ride would no longer be needed.

Oh, they can add lasers to the rockets and call it Dumbo Blasters, sponsored by the illegal ivory trade.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

I like this. Then they can add a gift shop to the end of the ride and sell simulated tusks.

I'll volunteer to drive the bulldozer. When do we start?

But, they do need to put it back where it belongs, AND they need to crank up the Peoplemover immediately, if not sooner. Do it! Do it now!

Re: Astro Orbitor To Be Removed?

Somebody knows, but no one who could say so here.

The rumor brought through the Micechat pipeline was that it would be gone by the end of March. As it is, it's still not even on any refurb lists (and let's face it, they would put it on a refurb list if it were closing - it wouldn't just disappear one day) so I would imagine it'll be in place for now.

And why shouldn't it stick around for now? The multiple "say goodbye to the Astro Orbitor" photo reports that were popping up last month happily took photos of its wait sign with a 45 minute wait. Do you want that 45 minutes worth of people milling through the park? People ride it. Yes, it causes a bottleneck, but we've lived with it for 16 years. There's no harm in leaving it around until a real, true start of a Tomorrowland renovation. No reason to reduce the park's attraction count and leave all those people visiting other rides until a renovation is actually assured.
