CONFIRMED: Disneyland’s Lilly Belle Car Official Closed to the Public

Maybe "Confirmed" is a bit preliminary, I read this just today in only this article which I think was posted today. I've personally never ridden in the Lilly Belle car, but I keep meaning to get my reservation. Does anybody else have anything corroborating this news?

There's another post that was in this forum about a week ago regarding this. From what I've heard, it's true. Only tours and Club 33 members can ride.

I can't help but find this very ironic. Last week Bob Iger himself stated that it was still open to guests during the Shareholder meeting, only requiring a pass from city hall. Now it's "comfirmed" that it's no longer available. This takes me to the topic of the subs. He claims that it will reopen, much like how the Lily Belle was said to be open to common guests. Now look where it got to, this leaves the possibility that it won't reopen as well, which to me atleast, seems more likely.

So.... you're saying the subs will NEVER reopen?

Hmm, maybe the City Hall Pass System is a way of keeping it not so busy? City Hall would know approximately how many tour guest riders there will be, how many Club33 riders there might be, etc., and make sure there's no long line waiting for a train car that might not ever come.

Iger is not the guy who is completely in charge of the parks, he appoints people do do that for him. Those people sometimes don't inform the CEO of small changes like this because the CEO is busy managing the company as a whole. It's the same thing with the subs. If the subs are being routinely refurbished, Iger doesn't need to know because it's the lower level hierarchy who are managing that. They pretty much just report to him on the numbers, not on every little thing that happens.

From what I have always understand, it wasn't supposed to be open to the public. I always thought it was just a nice gesture that CMs do for people every now and then.

Surprising that he had an answer.
I'm guessing someone in his earpiece helped.

How it worked in the past was you would sign up at the station. There were only 3 times during the day it was available.

Interesting. I did not know that.
Sounds the same as City Hall reservation.

I'll chalk this up to all of us saying "There's a secret way to get on the Lilly Belle," and now it's not a secret anymore, because a lot of people read this forum.

He didn't have an answer. He had to ask the other guys up there with him if anyone knew if that was true and essentially said, "As far as I know it's still open to anyone if you get a pass."

The translation being, "It may be changing, I don't know for certain, but last I did know you just had to request to ride it."
