    Thanks so much, Gryffud!
Every cat fan should click on all 7 of these!

My favorite was the shot with two--twins perhaps?

The third one didn't quickly open like the others the two times I tried it, so I didn't include that link.

Fifthrider, next time take some photos please!

We often look for cats at the Hungry Bear when we go to Disneyland,
but I think we only see one or two in
about one out of five visits. It's still worth looking.

Re: Please post photos of Disneyland's real cats

I remember seeing one while waiting at the rope drop in the morning at Disneyland. It was hunting a bird near Astro Orbiter. I got photo's and a short video of it. However posting photo's here do to the size restrictions is very difficult.

The Torties and Calicos along Redwood Creek Nature Trail are Gorgeous! We go out of our way to find them on every trip. For those of you wondering if they spay/neuter all the cats, my family did cat rescue for years, so I can tell you that its really difficult to trap every cat in a colony. The little buggers get "trap smart" very quickly. Its even harder when they have an ample supply of food.

Are you allowed to feed the cats? If so, I want to take a bag of treats for them next time I'm at the park!

This guy hangs out around the Grizzly Mountain area. I also see quite a few cats along the tram road to the Mickey & Friends parking structure. There are lots of them along banks that you can see from the Mark Twain. When on the Mark Twain I try to see how many I can spot

Re: Please post photos of Disneyland's real cats

    =^^= De ja mew!
Is this cat above the same one (below) on post #58 on page 4 taken by the great "Dizneyphotoguy"?

Actually, if I had to bet, I'd guess that the one above (in two photos) is not
the same one Timmy posted in post #83, though they do look similar. What do you think?

[I just had to stop typing because one of our two cats was meowing.]

I did find the same cat in photos #68 and 89, posted 4 years apart by different Micechatters and posted next to each other below.

So some say there are 200 cats at Disneyland,
and there are well over 10,000 adults there every day with cameras in their phones,
so I'd like to see more cat photos, Micechatters! (Please.)

Malina, I think you could feed the cats if you brought them some dry cat treats.

If the security guard asks when searching your bag, just look real sad whisper, "We're poor and saving on snacks is the only way we could afford this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyland." Then start crying. Have a companion play "Feed the Birds" in the background on harmonica as you tell this tale.

We've brought bread to feed to the ducks in the river along the Hungry Bear. My daughter loved doing that when she was 2--and I rationalized that the whole wheat bread we fed them was better than the many french fries they successfully begged for.

Though it would be cool, the insects or the spiders of Disneyland would be an interesting thread, but Disney might not like it, as it would creep out some of their potential guests.

Re: Please post photos of Disneyland's real cats

Some years ago, the Orange County Register published a story about the Disney cats. As I recollect, the story said that when feral cats first started showing up, they noticed a decided drop in the incidents of mouse and rat infestations around the park. This was a good thing, so they started providing food stations and care for the cats as they provided an valuable service. Given that this is Disney, the mouse eradication aspect is kind of ironic.

    Timothy,

There once was a mouse named Mickey
Who thought other mice were icky.
    So he hired some cats
    To eat mice and rats,
Then Minnie declared him a sickie!

The tram route is where I see the most sightings of the DLR cats. Usually right before opening or at dusk. They'll preen and prance around the foliage at the side of the roadway.
