Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

    For my last trip:

Airfare was about $250 roundtrip from Denver
Hotel and tickets for two was $1400 ($700ish for my half, 5 days in park & 6 days at the hotel)
Add an additional $35 for a shuttle to and from the airport

Looking at around $1250 just for my share of the trip itself.

Per day my spending was on average:

$5-6 at the hotel or McDonalds for breakfast
$10-15 for lunch in the parks
$3-4 for a snack or drink at some point
$10-15 for dinner in the parks

Depending on if I buy souvenirs or not, I can easily make it through a day spending less than $100 on myself. Heck, I could probably get by spending less than $50 if I had to.

Usually I splurge once during the trip and have lunch at a sit-down restaurant like Blue Bayou or Cafe Orleans, so that's an extra $30-40 that I saved up on purpose.
I also pack granola bars into my luggage so I have something to snack on in the mornings before lunch. Saves me some money on snacks. I'm still trying to figure out a way to bring my own bottles of water but I haven't quite figured that out yet.
I am so sick of Frozen I can't even describe the feeling.

5-7 a day inside the park for a snack instead of having lunch. Drink from water fountains free vs buying drinks.

10 or so for dinner at Subway generally.

3 day park hopper (not sure what the current price is)

    40 ground transportation roughly.

    misc expenses needed travel insurance.

I don't buy any souvenirs, so no spending there.

I can go for 3 days pretty cheap, highest cost of the trip is the tickets to get into the park.

(I mix my trips into family visits in San Diego, so that is why my Disney trips are 3 days.)
you could get dinner in park for $10. I don't want subway on vacation.

op you might look on tripadvisor forum for hotel choice. For convenience we prefer motel across st
I recommend staying 2 nites in la & do all items there. Then move to anaheim hotel. Back & forth la traffic in 7 days is a waste. IMO.

look at allears.ne for dlr menus & prices.

Me, my daughter (19) and 3 of her friends will run around $1000 a day. This includes driving 575 miles one way, DL 2 days, Universal 1 day, meals (both in and out of the parks), snacks and various souvenirs.

We usually stay at one of the hotels on Harbor close to DL.

If I eat in the parks, I spend maybe twenty to thirty dollars each day I go. If I eat outside the parks, I spend about fifteen dollars a day.

Subway works for me as I also prefer to eat back at the hotel. I also don't spend the entire day in the parks, generally I go at opening, and stay until 5 or 6. I see no benefit to eating in the parks.

Its not really a vacation for me, I do other things while in So. California, visit family and friends. The park is just one component of the entire trip to So. Cal.

Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

For me right now, about $50/day, since I have an AP. It usually breaks down as:

    - Snack in the park $5 - $10 ish
    - Mint Julep $4 ish (and I always have to have one)
    - Dinner or late lunch in the park - $10 - $15.
    - A pin or two - $8 - $15
    - Transportation - anywhere from free (if I take the bus both ways with my existing transit pass) to $32 (if I take a shuttle both ways, which I usually don't do). When I come to the park with friends I usually cover parking (because they're doing the driving and I'm not) so that's $16.

The merch figures also go up depending on what is happening - I do a lot of my Christmas and friends' birthday shopping at Disneyland, so that number can easily rise to triple digits.

I do bring my own Nalgene water bottle, as well as something like granola bars or hard candies (since I do need to eat often).
Merida looks like this. Not a Barbie doll!

All told, travel to/from Disneyland, hotel, food, park entrance, souvenirs... round about $3,000 or about $750/person.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

If I'm gonna be in the parks for the full day it would probably break down like this:

    Lunch
    $12 Plaza Inn/Golden Horseshoe/Pizza Port

    Snacks
    $4 Churro/Soda/Ice Cream

    Dinner
    $12 Plaza Inn/French Market/Rancho del Zocalo

    Total: $28
I have an annual pass so I don't have to pay for tickets etc, and the discount makes the food a little bit cheaper!

I normally don't buy souvenirs, it would have to be something REALLY AWESOME for me to put money down on it..

A week's vacation at Disneyland for me is always under a thousand dollars. I usually come home with money in my pocket. Having a timeshare that I can use in the Disneyland neighborhood, eliminates hotel costs. I travel from Chicago. I don't buy too many souvenirs, and don't book too many fancy meals. I have fun though, and I don't break the bank. Airfare has gone up, and so has ticket prices, but not having the hotel costs means I can visit more regularly.

Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

I am from Vancouver and was there from March 13-20 2014. We flew out of YVR with Westjet and landed at LAX. We had use of a rental car, purchased 5 day park hoppers, and also bought 2 day admission tickets to Universal Studio from a local Costco.

We are a family of 3. 2 adults and one child. Our package price for the flight and hotel (Holiday Inn and Suites, Walnut St) was about CDN$2000 inclusive of taxes for a 7 night/8 day stay. When eating out and buying things (shopping, eating, souvenirs, etc), we were not watching our wallets and spent freely.

For US to Canadian conversion, I will use a factor of 1.12

One adult and one child 5 day park hopper tickets were redeemed from Airmiles.ca and one adult pass purchased from aRes travel: US$265 or about CDN$300

    2 day Universal passes from Costco: $75 each x 3 = CDN$225

Rental car from Dollar for 8 days: US$203.00...about CDN$228
gas for rental car: US$53.00...about CDN$60

Spending money for food, gifts, shopping, parking, ART shuttle, souvenirs: US$1500...about CDN$1680.

Total spent for 3 persons is approx CDN$4500
Total spent per person is approx CDN$1500

If you are changing money in the Vancouver area, Kingmark and the Vancouver Bullion and Currency Exchange have great rates.

We are staying for 7 days:
    Friday is a free day
    Saturday: LA & Hollywood tour
    Sun, Mon: Disneyland
    Tues: Knotts & Med. Times
    Wed: Universal Studios
    Thurs: Disneyland
The ART bus #11 was on our route and one of the hotels it stopped at was the Menage. We bought a 5 day pass for myself, wife and child: $45 total ($20 for adults, $5 for a kid).

Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

We come from Australia. We normally stay between 10-14 nights and the total cost of each trip is around $8000 - $10000 for 3 people.

A rough breakdown of the costs for 3 people:
    Airfares : $4K approx
    Hotel : $2K approx. for 14 nights
    Annual Passes : $2K approx.
    Spending Money : $2K

    Total : 10K.

If its our second (or third) trip in the year then we don't have to pay for the annual passes again so those trips are around 8K.

Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

Wow, it's so interesting to see how much people spend to go to the most magical place on earth! I was thinking the $1700 pp from BC including all passes etc to all the places we want to go was a good deal

    Our breakdown to go is:
Airfare from Northern BC to airport (John Wayne I believe)- $640 x 2= 1280
    Hotel Menage x 7 nights= 910
    Transfers to/from hotel for x2 people=70
    City passes (purchased at Costco)= 323 x2= 646
    LA/Hollywood 12 hr tour 73 x 2= 146
    Knotts/Medieval Times= 120 x2= 240
    Hotel to Universal transportation= 40x2= 80
    Travel insurance= 150
Total before actually getting there: 3522
    Per person: 1761

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Menage?

Thank you all for sharing, I think we will split our meals and spoil ourselves in the park and also do cheaper meals on the outside.
