Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

4 people for 4 days in the park.
Airfare $280/pp or $70/per person per day.
    tickets $285/pp or $71.25/pppd
hotel $500 total per night or $125/pppd
    food in the park
    $25pppd breakfast
    $35pppd lunch
    $50pppd dinner

So probalby $376 per person each day or $1500 for the family each day

and then random charge on top of that for misc. disney junk or snacks in the park.

Frankly I don't like this exercise because we pay for things here and there as plan the trip so we never see a huge amount at any one time.... Now that I've really look at it I'm not so sure its the happiest place on earth anymore.

    Our breakdown to go is:
Airfare from Northern BC to airport (John Wayne I believe)- $640 x 2= 1280
    Hotel Menage x 7 nights= 910
    Transfers to/from hotel for x2 people=70
    City passes (purchased at Costco)= 323 x2= 646
    LA/Hollywood 12 hr tour 73 x 2= 146
    Knotts/Medieval Times= 120 x2= 240
    Hotel to Universal transportation= 40x2= 80
    Travel insurance= 150
Total before actually getting there: 3522
    Per person: 1761

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Menage?

Thank you all for sharing, I think we will split our meals and spoil ourselves in the park and also do cheaper meals on the outside.
For offsite meals, there are some interesting restaurants in the Anaheim Garden Walk complex on Katella.

We had an awesome Saturday dinner at Roy's and took the ART bus from Disneyland to the Garden Walk. We also like Cheesecake Factory, but did not eat there this time since we go to the ones in the Seattle area often.

You would probably be happier if you lowered your lodging and food costs.

I spent like there was no tomorrow and didn't come close to $25pp for breakfast or $35pp on lunch. Besides the dinners at Ariel's grotto and Roy's, my dinner cost pp/day didn't exceed $35 with a mixture of onsite and offsite dining.

Yes, the lodging can be lowered considerably when we are staying offsite... the food is probably on the high side for those time you are eating a character meal or an expensive place.... that price is a worst case scenario... lowering lodging will easily drop the costs by $300/day

I wouldn't stay at ménage. For honeymoon I'd stay at a Disney property.

For our regular trips we stay at best western park place in.

Wow, nice hotel. Rooms look dated for that price though. The entrance is gorgeous though!

Really?! Have you been there!? It looks nice online. My travel agent recommended it. She recently stayed there and said she liked the atmosphere and it was clean (that's my main issue with hotels).

We did think about staying at a Disney hotel, but those prices were killer. Money isn't really an issue for us, but nevertheless who wants to spend $500 per night just for somewhere to rest your head? I don't plan to hang at the hotel at all haha

I have learned sometimes it is best to never add it up. My friend went to every single playoff and World Series game for the a Diamondbacks in 2001. To this day he refuses to add up what it cost. Something's are better left enjoyed without knowing the real cost.

They made a killing off of us when we were thirsty. I don't remember how much exactly we spent on them, but it was well over $100 for 5 days for 2 adults and a child. A bottle of coke, a juice, a slushy, and it all adds up quite quickly. This made us thankful that the Plaza Inn had refillable sodas.

Re: How much does your day/trip cost you on average?

For me, as an annual passholder, my daily cost is relatively low, but annually, I probably spend around $2000 as I buy several 50-150 souvenirs a year and food/snacks throughout. My WDW trip was probably around $1500 but I already had admission through my premier pass...

It really depends since we live far from Disneyland. My family has premium ap and we try to go at least twice a month! We've been eating at the park so around $130 and we usually spend around $50 on souvenirs. Then there's $40 on gas. So $220 but this is just from the last time we went.
