Re: Your favorite Disneyland meals under $10.00

Great post, Chineseandamovie! (Though I prefer getting my bread bowl meals in DCA.)

Can a Dole Whip Float count as a meal?

I'd add a meal at Whitewater Snacks inside of the Grand Californian--an AP discount makes it around $10, and we can usually get away from crowds there. And although I'd prefer taking a monorail around a lake and through a hotel lobby, I like Disneyland's proximity to Harbor Blvd. because it allows me to walk to Mimi's next door to Howard Johnson. (At Disney World I once felt uncomfortably trapped by WDW's food prices when I didn't have a rental car. Yes, I can be too frugal on vacation.)

And since I led you off of the resort, I will officially go . . . and share my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Orange County: Sarborso! Mexican Grill on at 13129 Harbor Blvd. south of the 55, and I'm backed by a recent Yelp list (link at the bottom of this post) where it placed 61st on a list of America's 100 most highly rated eateries. South of the 55 isn't that close to Disneyland, but Harbor Blvd. is easy to find.

Sarborso! Mexican Grill has a super-nice & excellent staff, generous servings of perfectly prepared, reasonably priced, fresh food, with attractive art on the walls, very clean restrooms, and upbeat Spanish-language pop music that I've never heard before. The hot sauce served with the chips was delicious and actually hot, made with habanero peppers. I like Orange County more because of this restaurant and the Cream Pan--see below.

Even though it's on Harbor Blvd., it's a little challenging to find. It's on the west side of Harbor in a strip mall that has a Chuck E Cheese. If you go to the Yelp list below and look at #61 (Sarborso), you'll find a link to a map. The Yelp list is well-linked.

(Note: a Japanese bakery in Tustin, the Cream Pan, that placed #31, is now my favorite bakery.)

Thanks for this! We will need to make food money stretch as much as possible for lunches and dinners lol and I remember how expensive food was there 5 years ago so I'm sure prices have gone up more! I guess that McDonald's fries thing is gone?

Cinnamon Rolls at, basically, all of the bakeries. They used to be a bit bigger but my wife and I still split one for breakfast. 1/2 a cinnamon roll and a nice hot cup of coffee is a standard go to for breakfast in the morning for us.

Mark Twain at the Carnation Cafe is still under $10.00 IIRC. I haven't been since December but I think it was under 10.
