Talking Star Tours 1 or 2?

Which one do you like I have only experienced 1 and seen YouTube videos of 2. The robot guy from 1 was always funny to me haha.

Star Tours 2 is much better. It is clear the 3D really works well, the random ride scenarios helps to shake things up. The only down side is that I really miss Captain Rex!

I agree. The one thing about 2 is that it is rougher and I tend to get a bit quesey on it.

Your not the only one. I think they have some slight syncing issues between the video and the movement. I have been in incredibly rough boat and planes and so long as I am able to see out the front I never get sick, but the Star Tours is about the only thing I can nearly depend on making me feel queasy every time.

Apparently they used to have the same problem years ago at EPCOT with the Body Wars attractions. FOr those who don't know, Body Wars used the identical simulator for a trip through the human body. However, every single time I rode it I would get that queazy feeling. Any longer and I would have gotten sick. I spoke to an imagineer once about it and he said there was some kind of programming issue that made people sick. It sounds like what you're describing, Mackster.

Star Tours 2 for sure. Having multiple randomized scenes help keep it interesting for repeat visits.

I wish they would modernize their 3D theatre shows like Muppets and do something similar. Would help keep them fresh.

I grew up with original Star Tours and Captain Rex, but I love all of the new things that are in Star Tours 2.0. The change is nice, I like it.

There is a quote from one of my favorite books, The Shockwave Rider by John Brunner, that may be apropos:

There are two kinds of fool: One says, "this is old, and therefore good" and the other says, "this is new and therefore better".
The Thousandth Happy Haunt Mike Howard has a plan to become a permanent fixture of a popular Disneyland Attraction, The Haunted Mansion. A short story by L. Christopher Bird (ZenMondo).

I think if I had never been on any of them, I would prefer the OG Star Tours to the new version, but having been on the OG probably 50 times, I like the new one now. I do hope they update it agan with new randomized destinations once the next trilogy comes out.

I prefer the original. It has a certain charm and humor that the new version doesn't.

Original. I really don't like the new version at all.

I have an ENORMOUS affinity for the original. (See my signature.) That said, the revamp is done so well, that I love it just as much. They kept so much of the spirit of the original, while still keeping it fresh. The only part I'm kind of "meh" about is the Coruscant sequence, because it doesn't feel like much happens in it except random flying around.

I thought I'd moved on and could only love the newer version but last month after a long break I jumped on 1.0 at Paris. There's something to be said for knowing where you're going on a journey.

It just plain nostalgic and wonderful that there is room in this world to have both.

I like them both a lot, although I like 2.0 for the random scenes.

The first one was cool, but the second one is much better.
