Re: Anatomy of a Disneyland Hotel Collection

Wow, what a treat. We really need to help you open a museum for all this. Posting it online isn't enough. The Lone Ranger, Nixon, Beatles and Walt wearing glasses. You sir, will be spending a long time pouring over all these and scanning them. As one of your DH fans, I thank you for sharing. I'm really like the color ones of the hotel, tram and monorail. Just... Wow.

Agreed with Stormy, one would hope the Disney family museum may recognize and honor a little space for this. Honestly, I feel the Disneyland Hotel should be the one to pony up some room to display and honor all of this but that's commercial space in Disney's era of "no space unused, make a buck everywhere" so I doubt that will happen.

I haven't been here in weeks, maybe a month, and you just made my whole month with this one post.

This collection is amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I wish it was somewhere that it could be enjoyed in person, but I really appreciate just being able to see it in pictures!

I have 99% of this material already scanned. I have almost 200 GB of information on my hard drive...and yes....it's backed up several times. What you see here in this posting is only a fraction of the material I have collected. Just barely the tip of the iceberg.

Two more memos to/from Jack Wrather and Disney. These two say a lot about the relationship between Wrather and Disney and the legacy in which Walt Disney left behind at the time of his passing. Again, I have hundreds of documents like these between Wrather and Disney.

Day 3, I'm still going over all the scans here and examining details.

I hate to sound like a broken record but yes, it belongs in a museum. A Disney family museum. I need to make a call, if it goes anywhere I'll have him contact you on this board via PM.

The pictures and documents are most awesome. This has to be one of my favorite posts. I love seeing history like this.

As a SERIOUS lover of history, I applaud you. I'd love to have a collection like that, but I'd go broke building a climate controlled, halon-protected home for it all.

The Hotel also had its own credit cards.

Some employee ID cards as well.

This is possibly the first employee hired at the Disneyland Hotel. Mr. Lenti was hired months before the Hotel even opened and served as the Gourmet Maitre D and Group Function manager.

And I think you will know who this gentleman is.
