Disneyland Quick Service & Restaurant Reviews... GO!

    Hey fellow Disney fans!

I grew up in South FL, so WDW was a frequent vacation spot. My husband and I just moved to CA and will be celebrating our anniversary at DLR (first visit ever!) this August... I am a MAJOR foodie. I'd love to hear everyone's opinion on the best places to eat and drink around the parks and hotels!

You are in luck as there is a plethora of great food establishments in and around the parks. My family loves Carnation Cafe for breakfast, Village Haus for lunch, and Blue Bayou for dinner. There are also fabulous places in Downtown Disney.

    My recommendations:

The seating area at the Boardwalk eateries in DCA is very nice and relaxing, shady spots, and I always enjoy the food from the window selling skewers and Greek type dishes - a pleasant quick-service location that is different form the typical burgers and pizza and sandwiches.

Cafe Orleans has a good menu and pleasant to eat at for table service in Disneyland - the monte cristo, a ratatouille dish, crepes, and so on with beignets on the dessert menu.

Trader Sam's and Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel both have tasty food, and Sam's is a must-see for looking around and soaking up the ambiance (it's a tiki bar, essentially).

Storytellers Cafe inside the Grand Californian is usually busy, but I've enjoyed all the meals eaten there.

I don't have much experience with the full-service restaurants in the parks (you can never go wrong with the Blue Bayou just in terms of sheer ambiance or Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian), but as far as good counter service places, I definitely think Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta in DCA is pretty fantastic. Food is affordable, good, and the atmosphere is wonderful.

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in DTD is very good. It is always on the list of must do for us.

God, I completely agree with Bobbee. The Jazz Kitchen has a fantastic express window next to the actual restaurant that has a delicious breakfast to die for. Almost quite literally to die for.

French Market is usually my go-to. Cafe Orleans is better, but it has a longer line and closes early. French Market usually never has more than a 30 minute wait even on the busiest days, has good food (corn chowder in a bread boulle is the best), plenty of tables, and if you go there at 8:30PM you can sort of watch Fantasmic from your table.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Napa Rose. It's closing for a couple of months soon, but you can't beat the Chef's Table experience! It's about $100/person but so worth it for a special occasion!

I'm a fan of the French Market corn chowder and mint julep.

Napa Rose if you're looking for a special meal. It's quite expensive - and totally worth it.
Carthay Circle if you have a lot of time. Their service is very slow.

Some of the best ones have already been stated but another great feast is the Chicken Dinner at the Plaza Inn. It really is absolutely delicious!
We have to have it at least once during our 5 day trips.

Napa Rose and Carthay Circle are great fine dining experiences.

Trader Sam's is great for drinks and hanging out.

Plaza Inn for their Fried Chicken and Cobb Salad

Redd Rocket's for their Asian Chicken Salad and Countdown Fusilli Pasta

Cream Cheese filled pretzel at the tomorrowland stand.

The Jazz Kitchen in DTD is one of my favorites, they have the best salmon. In the parks I like DL's Plaza Inn fried chicken or DCA's upstairs wine lounge (but it's mostly wine and tapas up there).

Every time I go I say I'm not going to miss Trader Sam's... but I still haven't made it! I'm driving out tonight to Anaheim so hopefully this will be the time I make it!

i always have to go to bengal bbq for the beef skewers. (the mild ones). also required is a dole whip.
breakfast over at river belle in the morning is always fun. sitting and watching people run to mansion and splash is fun.
a mickey pretzel with cheese during the fireworks is also good.
as far as DCA.. i've only really eaten there a few times. cocina cucamonga is pretty good. their tamales are delicious.
